Hey guys, brand new runner to the game here, and sorry for the possibly dumb question. I had a question about what metric I should be using to count my squares when it comes to blind/educated travel in the Nether to get to the stronghold.

Some of the guides say that you should be x amount of blocks from your initial nether portal if you are using blind/educated travel in the nether. What metric on your stat screen are you tracking to determine that you're the right distance away from your nether portal? I've been using the block metric, but I want to find out if that's the accurate one to use. Lmk if I need to clarify this question any more if its worded confusingly. Thanks!
