does any1 know if custom matches vs friends are allowed

You can only use a custom server for deathrun speedruns, any PvP gamemode must be done in a real game. You can read the rules of each individual category for more info.

i submitted one on a custom server without this knowledge (For The Bridge) so pls reject that one, as i did not intend to cheat

Yes i believe i rejected the run, also be sure to run the command "/p info" somewhere in the recording.
