How to display your real-time salvage percentage for IL

The IL categories require you to reach a certain salvage percentage in order to complete the run. But the percentage is only shown when pausing the game, which is not ideal.

For this reason, we've decided to allow the use of a tool to display your current salvage percentage in real-time, on top of the game.

*The use of this tool is allowed, but entirely OPTIONAL.*

The [Shipbreaker Companion](https://github.com/Doublevil/ShipbreakerCompanion/releases/latest) tool does that for you. An important point is that it is NOT a mod. It only reads memory, without altering the game in any way.

In the Shipbreaker Companion window, you'll see a red eye on the bottom marked as "Salvage tracking". While you're running the game, click the "Start tracking" button and go back to the game. When you start salvaging a ship, you should see the stats appear next to the eye, that should now turn green.

If you want to display the percentages on top of your game while you're playing, click the "Pop out" button. This will make a display of the same percentages also show up transparently above all other windows. If you move your cursor above the display, 2 buttons will show up. The top one will close the display, and the bottom one will allow you to drag the display around if you want to move it.

How to run the IL "Seeded" category

The "Seeded" category in individual levels (or individual ships) uses pre-approved ship files, so that everyone concurs with the exact same ship (as opposed to free play, where the ship is generated randomly).

The category plays in career mode, and the ship you're running has to be loaded in your hangar.

# Load ships automatically with the Shipbreaker Companion tool

The easiest way to run this category is to use the [Shipbreaker Companion](https://github.com/Doublevil/ShipbreakerCompanion/releases/latest).

The tool will list your game profiles and show you a list of all runnable ships. Just pick your profile and click the "Load" button matching the ship you want to run. You don't need to close the game between two loads, but just make sure you go back to the menu before switching.

# Load ships manually if you cannot/don't want to use tools

*This section is there only for runners who do not want to use the previously mentioned tool.*

1. Download the .ship file matching the category you want to run in the Resources section.
2. Copy the file to the following directory: "%AppData%\..\LocalLow\Blackbird Interactive\Hardspace_ Shipbreaker\Saves\Profiles"
3. Rename the file to have the same name as the profile you want to attach it to, but without changing the .ship extension. For instance, "vglpp3_250774108.ship".

Just like with the tool, you have to make sure you're not already in career mode before switching your .ship file. It's loaded when you select Career in the menu.

# Get a maxed save file with the Shipbreaker Companion tool

Because Open Shift has no time limit, it is ideal for this category, so it is advised to play in that mode.

Another feature of the Shipbreaker Companion tool (see link in the previous mention) is to download and install an Open Shift save file with enough LYNX points to buy all upgrades.

To do that, in the Companion tool, just click the "Install "Open Shift Full" save" button below your profiles. If you already had an Open Shift save, you'll also need to select it and click "Disable this profile" (don't worry, this won't delete your save, you'll be able to reactivate it at any time).

# Get a maxed save file without the Shipbreaker Companion tool

If you don't want to use the Companion tool or cannot use it, you can still [download the profile save from GitHub](https://github.com/Doublevil/ShipbreakerCompanion/blob/master/Saves/vglpp3_2195076518.lpw?raw=true).

Once downloaded, copy the file to the following directory: "%AppData%\..\LocalLow\Blackbird Interactive\Hardspace_ Shipbreaker\Saves\Profiles".

If you already had an Open Shift profile, you'll need to find which .lpw file it is and either move or delete it.

The Armadillo Utility Rig (Repair requirements)

If you make your way to certification rank 8 (Laborer), you will get a message from Weaver stating, that he would like you to have his old Armadillo Utility Rig. From this point onwards you can collect parts from salvage ships in order to refurbish the ship. You actually have to fully repair the ship in order to finish the career mode.

For the full repair of the ship you will need (as of 09/2022):
- 7x Circuit
- 6x Filter
- 3x Dampner
- 3x Distributer
- 6x Fuse
- 9x Heat sink
- 4x Piston
- 2x Ion coil
- 9x Wires
- 1x Bunny Character 'D'
