 How to Speedrun the prologue (Outdated)

Speedrunning the prologue is really straight forward for the most part. Moving quickly is the key to getting a low time for this part. Most of the time, the long movements will help you go quickly. Also, this might only save a minuscule amount of time, but any time saved is good; know what items to hold down and which one to click. Once you get to R.L. Stein's  typewriter, he will begin to say that he has writer's block, right as he says the word "ink,' the drawer on the lower right will light up. Do not hold this down. You can make a time save by just clicking it. When it reveals the ink, hold down on it. The ink cannot be obtained by clicking on it. Then hold down on the typewriter. You will then hear a knock on the door as Stein will tell you to get under the desk. Spam under the desk until you hide under there. Hold down the eyes button to hide until Slappy starts to talk when he enters. Once Slappy starts laughing and leaving the study, look over at the egyptian statue behind the desk and to the right. spam click under the egyptian statue so that when the walk icon pops up you go straight to the statue. The statue has a book in it that you need to hold down on. Collect it and then immediately make your way toward the fireplace where you collect the first page, then make your way toward the door of the study. Look at the bookshelf to the left of the door and hold down on the books that are to the right of the bookshelf and they are at eye level. This will knock down the books revealing a key behind it. You only have to click the key, and open the door by tapping the lock icon once you step in front of it. If you are speedrunning the full game, I suggest turning on the light by the front door before you unlock it. This will help you once you finish chapter 1 so you have the light shined on Slappy when he's in the study. If you are only speedrunning the prologue, I suggest that you shouldn't turn on the light so you can save more time.

 Speedrunning Chapter 2 (Outdated)

Chapter 2 has a total of 6 pages to collect, and more new mechanics. You can now go downstairs, and there are now a couple more monsters, with the addition of the gnomes and annihilator 3000. The first thing to do is press the green move icon on the right of you, then press the move icon in the middle of the room. Work your way up to the table by the door, where you will find a page under the table. step into the hallway, but don't go into the middle quite yet. instead, move on the green icon that just barely gets you in the hallway. The ghoul will be coming out of the bedroom across the hall, but you won't have to worry about her too much. Look to your right. You should find a storage room with a blue gnome in it. Go in there and smash the gnome to collect the 2nd page. Then you want to quickly leave the room and immediately go into the master bedroom on the left side of the hallway. You will be pretty close to the ghoul, so do be careful. When you open the door and go inside, there will be the 3rd page on your right beside the closet. Collect it, and immediately hide in the closet or under the bed. In the resources guide, I will post which route is better, because i'm not able to test it out at the moment. Anyways, the ghoul will walk into the room, but you must remain hidden until she leaves. Once she closes the door, you can come from under the bed to the door and open it up. She will not be outside in the hallway. Like in chapter 1, some monsters just disappear after they leave. Open the door and go out into the left of the hallway, you will see a staircase that goes down to the 1st floor. Go down it, and you will now be in the main lobby room, there will be a doorway on the right to go into. Once you go through it, the parlor will be on the right, and the dining room on the left. Go into the parlor first where you will see the annihilator 3000. Just avoid the light and get the page on the other side. Then go into the dining room and go under the table. The fifth page will be right where you're at. Once you collect the page, you will notice a room that connects to the dining room you're in via a door. Open the doors and go into the room. The room you're now in is the kitchen. The last page is in a specific cabinet. Walk up next to the island, and walk to the right. Once you do that, your character will seemingly jump up. This is to look at the high cabinets on your right. The page will be in the cabinet on the highest cabinets that is right of the island. It will be the 2nd to last one closest to the right. Basically the one that's left of the one on the farthest right. Open that cabinet and collect the page. Go back into the dining room you just came out of to find Slappy and capture him.

Chapter 2 guide REVAMPED

Hey! I'm a new top runner for this game, and along with Slightlymoreirriator, we have pretty much reshaped the routes for chapters Prologue, 2, 3, and 4. This guide is specifically for chapter 2, which was routed by Slightlymoreirriator.

When speedrunning chapter 2 on it's own, follow this strategy normally and as long as you started the chapter from the menu screen it should work. If you are doing this as part of a longer run, quit to menu and re open the chapter from the menu. Normally, the ghoul will spawn in the bedroom and force you to get around her in order to get the upstairs pages, but she will not spawn if you open it from the menu.

Start by immediately hiding under the desk as slappy does his opening cutscene and dialogue, then tap the movement icon as far ahead as you can, which is the one right in  front of the hall way door. As you're moving towards the door, position your finger to start picking up the page under the table to your left and pick it up as soon as possible. Then, move to the start of the hallway and open the first door to the right, but don't go inside. This will spawn the gnome with the page. Move up to the next door and open it, go inside, pick up the page to your right and leave. If you did this fast enough the gnome should just have left the door you opened earlier and will be running towards you. Smash him and pick up the page. Then simply run downstairs. Move to the right and go into the dining room, then go to the door on the left side of the room and hold your finger on the upper middle of the chair to your right, this will pick up the page underneath. Then open the door and turn around to go to the parlor/living room. If this was done fast enough, the annihilator 3000 should be beaming the page. Wait a second to let his beam move out of the way and go in to collect the page. The hitbox is very lenient so don't wait too long. Once you have the page run back to the door you opened in the dining room and go inside. Open the next door and go into the kitchen. The top right cabinet closest to you has a page in it. Pick it up. If murder is in there, ignore him. If you move fast enough he won't kill you. As soon as you collect the page run back into the hallway you were just in and wait a moment to allow slappy to run into the dining room. Run back into the dining room and catch slappy as he attempts to run around the side of the table to your left.

Introduction: Goosebumps Night of Scares

Goosebumps Night of Scares is a mobile horror game developed by Free Range games and Cosmic Forces. It can be played on Android, IOS, and Oculus Go. It is based on the Goosebumps books and media franchise.

Internal (Game) Info:

In the game, you play as a character named "Twist." R.L. Stein, the author of the Goosebumps books, guides you through the game by giving you tips and information. The game is split up into five main chapters, (prologue, 1, 2, 3, 4) as well as a bonus chapter. In each of these chapters, your goal is to collect pages throughout the house that you're in. Although, there are also new monsters each chapter that you need to avoid. Most of the time you are forced to hide when these monsters appear, but sometimes you can outrun them. If you let them get too close to you, they jumpscare you, forcing you to watch an ad to save your progress, or restart the chapter you're in. When you are speedrunning the game though, you are not allowed to watch ads to save your progress when you die. You are required to restart the level. Once you collect all the pages in the house, you need to find Slappy and open the book on him by holding down on his character.
If you are ever confused in the game because you don't know where to look for the pages, there is a map of the house layout in the bottom left corner of your screen. It will tell you where every page and gnome is at. This map also appears at the beginning of each chapter.

Monster Information:

Slappy: he is the main antagonist in the game, but he never really appears except for the beginning and end of each chapter. There is one key thing that you want to remember about Slappy, and it is key for a successful speedrun.
*Always have the lights on when you go to capture him* Slappy is able to kill you at the end of the chapter once you collect all the pages. That's if you don't have the lights on. As long as you have the lights on, he can't kill you, unless you deliberately run into him. You want to get at a semi-close distance to capture him. He is introduced in the prologue.

Yellow Gnomes: These are one of the three types of gnomes in the game. These are also one of the only monsters that are not capable of killing you. Yellow gnomes are still pesky though. The main thing they do is turn out the lights in the house, enabling the other monsters to kill you more easily. You can avoid this though by smashing them. What you should do when you encounter them should be one of two things.
1. Smash them. Smashing them is an easy way of ending their existence, but it can be costly. The noise when you break them can attract other monsters.
2. Ignore them. Ignoring them can prevent them from attracting the other monsters, but letting them turn off the lights puts you in a not-so-good position when you go to capture Slappy. They are introduced in chapter 2.

Red Gnomes: technically they aren't called "Red Gnomes." but that's their color. There are two of them, but the only difference is the jumpscare. One has a rake, and one has a shovel. Unlike the yellow gnomes, the red gnomes are hostile, and they will kill you. You can run away from them or break them to avoid them. They are introduced in Chapter 3.

Blue Gnomes:blue gnomes aren't hostile, but they aren't like the red gnomes or the yellow ones. Blue gnomes contain a page inside them that you can collect when you break them. They don't kill you, and they aren't pesky and shut the lights off. They do try to run away from you at times, but you can easily catch up to them. They are introduced in chapter 1.

Annihilator 3000: The Annihilator 3000 is a robot introduced in chapter 2, and only appears in chapter 2. It is located in the music room and parlor. They will shine a red beam of light that kills you when it shines directly on you. It will rotate in a 360 at all times slowly, but all you have to do is be careful to avoid the light and you're good.

Fifi: Fifi is a vampire poodle dog that doesn't directly kill you, but it has another way of killing you. Whenever Fifi sees you, she starts barking, which alerts the Werewolf, which is introduced later in the guide. There are 2 ways to avoid her.
1. Don't go directly in front of her and don't stay in the same place too long.
2. Shut a door in her face.

Now we are about to get into the major monsters.

The Ghoul: The ghoul is a monster in the game that is a bit tricky. She sometimes comes towards you even if you don't make noise or do anything that sparks attention. She is easily alerted whenever you make noise, but her weakness is her speed. You, the player, can easily outrun this grandma  as if she is a dang sloth. She is super slow. Another key thing about her is that she can go almost anywhere. She can go into any of the upstairs and downstairs rooms that are available. In chapter 4, she also gains the ability to be able to enter the basement and attic. she also moans when she is near you. She is introduced in chapter 1.

Will Blake, or the Werewolf of Fever Swamp: I will just simply put it as the Werewolf from now on. The Werewolf is the polar opposite of the ghoul. The Werewolf is super fast, and can easily dart towards you and kill you. Fortunately, you can prevent this. Before the Werewolf starts coming toward you, it will start barking. This is your chance to go hide. It doesn't react to noise really, but it seems to come and go at random times. It is rare, but it can also come up to the attic with you in chapter 4. You cannot outrun this monster, so your best bet really is to hide. It is introduced in chapter 3.

The Murder Clown: The murder clown is by far the trickiest monster of them all. He has many abilities, but the main one is teleportation. The three rooms that he appears in are the upstairs bedroom, the parlor, and the kitchen. In the upstairs bedroom, he can hide in the closet and under the bed. In the parlor, he hides behind the couches. In the kitchen, he can hide in 3 different places, despite the kitchen being not super big. He hides in the top cabinet in chapter 3, and in the fridge and the lower cabinet in chapter 4. This should be a clear sign to not hide in those places for too long. Once you collect a page in one of the designated rooms he hides in, he pops out from his hiding spot. However, he is also very slow, so you can easily outrun him or run around him when he does this. He is introduced in chapter 3 once you go downstairs.

Speedrunning Chapter 1 (Outdated)

Chapter 1 is the fastest chapter to beat as of February 2023. It doesn't require as much strategy as the others, so speed really matters. Once you start the chapter, R.L. Stein will start saying some dialogue. Just about when his dialogue ends a yellow move icon will appear in the middle of the hallway. Click it. There will be a ghoul on your left, but she's too slow to get you as long as you go fast. Next click the yellow move icon right by the door, and tap the lock on the door to open it. You will then see the bed in the bedroom, and that there is a hiding place under it. Click the hiding spot to hide under the bed. There will be a page on your left for you to collect. Hold down on it to collect it and immediately move into the hallway. The ghoul will be really close to you, but all you have to do is turn left and click the yellow move icon right by the master bedroom. Open the door to the master bedroom and go inside it. It might take a second or two, but a blue gnome will appear coming out from under the bed. Even though you have the ghoul following you, you don't need to worry about her. Smash the blue gnome and collect the page. Once you collect it, the ghoul disappears. Now you have to go back into the study to capture slappy. Go as fast as you need to and hold down on Slappy to capture him and end the chapter.
