Hi, I've been playing this game for a while and the previous versions of Geometry Wars as well. I really enjoy it and when my friend showed me the speedruns of it today I was interested. I gave a couple attempts on stream today and it was pretty fun. The main thing I'd like some insight on is the exit-level switch strat to speed up the time in between levels. I've been trying to press escape after completing levels but before the slow animations. No luck. Am I slow or doing it wrong any help is welcome, thanks!

The trick is to press space as soon as the "reset level thingy" appears and right after that you can hit escape.

@pentaleks How did you switch from the multiplier collecting power-up in the fourth stage to the extra fire-power power-up in the fifth (boss) stage? without going to the screen where you choose?
