How do I enable e-mail authentication?

Not sure what's stopping you from exploring Settings yourself

But it's Settings > Account & Security > Email Authentication (2FA) > On > Save Or here

for somereason people never seem to be able to go to the settings without other people telling them to in the forums. there'd be so many fewer threads and necros if people just went to the settings themselves
