There's a reason why most people would recommend OBS. Mainly because its free and there are a ton of features built into it + there are a ton of plugins which makes it a piece of software that you can always rely on to do everything that has to do with recording + streaming.
I completely agree. The only time OBS didn't really work for me is on a very weak notebook. I found some other lightweight screen recorder to go with instead.

In my experience, it's better to use OBS Studio especially if you're saving money since it's free and allows collaboration (open-source.) If you want to record your own montage plays or to take a video of yourself while streaming/gaming, go with OBS.
Just make sure that it's compatible with the system in your mac.
wavepad, cleanfeed and Obs is the best for the recording. if you need more options, go to google and write"best recording software" many options will be shown.
