It is not uncommon for humans to beat TAS records in some games, if new strats and timesaves are found. The TAS will eventually beat them again.

Several MK64 runners (including Abney) have also beaten the initial RRd TAS of the new skip that was found recently. It's more so evidence of a less than optimized TAS than runner skill
