This game spawned a franchise that exists to this day. The Earth Defense Force games now are third person shooters where you stomp bugs, but the very first one back in the day was a bullet hell for the SNES and the arcade. We decided on the Laser ship as the fastest ship for this, mainly because the laser is able to hit through multiple enemies at once.
