HI DOES USING RESUSCITATION CHANGES ANYTHING

Use of a resuscitation is basically a continue

Seoul, South Korea

ressu counts as continue and can be abused to "reset" the game and therefore change the RNG how / where dinos spawn, thats why we made the "Segmented" category

(apologies for necropost)

But, surely. If you're timing your run in real time, It would still count as an Any%. The Ressu's also load faster compared to the game over screen. I understand that when you die, it takes you to the previous room. But with the RNG change, wouldn't that make the run interesting?

I don't see it as a segmented run if you're continuing in the same game. I understand it's reattempting the same bit which I can see why it's "segmented" (is this why it's a big deal compared to deaths from other games for speedruns), But I feel that it over complicates the categories.

I may need this explained better.

Hey Hanyou

Basically, approach it from this angle. The three main categories for this game (any%, no weapon and best ending) are all deathless categories. When you die, that segments the run because it takes you from the spot you died back to a point before that death occurred.

I hope this helped you understand everything better. :) Send me a message if not and I will try to explain it better.
