an actual guide how not to speedrun killer tutorial

1) the moment 2nd logo appears (1st one goes after you start the tutorial, then 3-dots loading, then the 2nd one), you can briefly start moving, if you didn't held forward movement before. not sure about the lunge efficency, i doubt it's actually useful.

2) place your cursor right on the top of the textbox, click and briefly move the mouse at the top, then quickly drop it down for another textbox

3) pickup meg at her left side or around her head, hook her, same menus.

4) from now on, the game "remembers" your position of the camera and mouse, and you can manipulate it, more or less. 
try to not screw up everything by moving around b4 the next textbox appears, place your mouse (after last textbox) in the zone where the next one would appear, two quick taps, quickly reverse and go towards the rock

5) hit meg through the pallet by lunging her the moment she starts to walk towards it, break the pallet, 2nd hit/lunge when meg will be around the big black tree, pick her up, hook her.

6) this time, you'll have to both quickly turn around and skip the dialogue, i found a bunch of setups, but i prefer doing the same strat - just don't fuck up the mouse movements after the last textbox. you can turn your camera towards top left or top right corner to always have your cursor there b4 it appears.

7) hit the gen, cut two corners, get dwight, hook him => cut two corners, get clowndette, textbox (doesn't matter unless you're being a slowpoke), hook (important part - when you're hooking her, try to push your cursor and your camera to the left, and briefly rotate right to get faster textbox), to towards the gates and get textbox the moment you'll hit the corner zone, stick to the left side of the gen, get meg, end the run.

Current Trap% (Solo) Strategies

This is my mini-guide for what I believe is the fastest way to complete this mode. It's RNG heavy but it can be minimized with some proper planning.

The survivor set that seems to work best is Sprint Burst, Decisive Strike, No Mither, and Spine Chill.

Sprint Burst: Obvious choice, faster movement around the map.
Decisive Strike: DS is used to hop off the killer's shoulders faster so you can get to the box faster.
No Mither: One less hit for the pig to have to do. Obvious choice.
Spine Chill: Me and my fellow speedrunners have done extensive research on these buff perks. We have determined that the actual 6% interaction speed increase that this perk (and many others such as Resilience) have appear to have no effect on the box timer. We have found, however, that the box still appears to give more skillchecks when being watched by the killer. This is a good thing as it provides more great skillcheck chances to speed the unlock process.

The killer set that seems to work best is Agitation, Shadowborn, Bamboozle, and Sloppy Butcher / Bloodhound.

Agitation: Obvious choice as it provides the killer a faster way to get to the boxes when the survivor is on their shoulder.
Shadowborn: This perk is mostly used to help track the survivor and make their job a little easier.
Bamboozle: This perk is pretty much only used for the beginning "tracking" part of the run to make finding the survivor just a tiny bit faster.
Sloppy Butcher / Bloodhound: These two are filler perks just to help track the survivor. We could not find a different perk that would benefit this run more.

One more thing of note is that the survivor can struggle off the killer's shoulder if the killer presses the drop key when the wiggle meter is at 75%. This can shave a few seconds off of the timer!

The theoretical most "optimal" strategy would go something like this:

1. Load the game
2. Find the survivor and down them in the middle of the map
3. Put a trap on the survivor
4. Pick them up and bring them to a box
5. Let them struggle off with the struggle exploit
6. Survivor unlocks the trap
7. Pig downs them and puts another trap on their head
8. Pig picks up the survivor and they get off with decisive strike
9. Survivor unlocks the last trap and the run is complete.

Of course, we live in RNG-land. This run is not likely to happen and it is a better idea to reset if the first two boxes for either section do not have the key.

Current Tutorial% (Survivor) Strategies

This is my mini-guide for what I believe is the fastest way to complete this run. It's mostly skill based with pop-up boxes with a tiny amount of RNG in the skillcheck chances (until the end of the run). I'm gonna highlight what I call the different 'phases' to the run.

1. Welcome to The Fog (No RNG)
This section is self-explanatory and has no random elements. There is only one pop-up box to click and it is the start of the run. Just complete the gen, open the door, and exit.

Theoretical Run Timer: 
0:40

2. Skill Checks (No RNG, high skill)
This section introduces skill-based elements into the run. For this section, you must run and complete the gen with skillchecks. There are three guaranteed skillcheck opportunities on the generator. Hitting these decrease the run by about 1.6 seconds each. Hitting all three of these will decrease the run timer by about 5 seconds. There is one pop-up box and it is at the very beginning of this section. If you hit all three skillschecks you should end this section at about 1:19. If you don't, you will end this section about 1:24. Getting one or two greats will have times in the middle of these.

(3 Skillchecks): 1:19

3. The Killer (No RNG)
Very basic part of the run. All that is required is to turn around and run away from the killer's terror radius. There is one pop-up box at the very beginning of this section.

(3 Skillchecks): 1:33

4. Stealth (No RNG?)
This is a straightforward section but there are some weird intricacies to it. You must run and jump past a log, run into the basement, and jump into a locker. The killer will then grab you from the locker, put you on a hook, and then Meg will save you. It's somewhat long but with minimal RNG. There are two pop-up boxes at the beginning of this section. The weird part that we haven't figured out yet is that sometimes it gives a pop-up box for sprinting over the log and other times it doesn't. We have no idea how this works so we will ignore it for now but be prepared for the box to appear. There is a pop-up box when the basement is entered and another one when the locker is approached. There is a pop-up box after being hooked but it's not urgent to click as the player cannot perform any actions. The player can choose to struggle on the hook or to stay still. It doesn't matter. There is no RNG attached to the hook. It is coded to be impossible to wiggle off.

(3 Skillchecks): 2:33

5. Injured Health State (No RNG)
Very straightforward section. Run to the chest, grab the medkit, and heal yourself. There is a pop-up box at the beginning of this section. Medkit RNG is disabled and it is impossible to trigger skillchecks.

(3 Skillchecks): 3:04

6. Saving Survivors (High RNG, high skill)
This is the only part of the run with very, very, heavy RNG and it is unfortunately near the end of the run. You must run upstairs, grab meg off of the hook, heal her, and complete the gen with her. There is a pop-up box when Meg is hooked and when she is unhooked. After she is healed, there is another pop-up box notifying you to work on the gen. Random skillchecks are turned for healing Meg AND for completing the gen. Both of these random elements make the optimal time impossible to calculate as you can get a ton of skillchecks or you could get none depending on the RNG roll. Making the best out of these skillchecks will be the key to getting the best time on this run. Finally, this is the only section (for some reason) where your ending point is saved. So if you run away to the exit after the gen is complete it will save you a few seconds during the run. Run towards the trees opposite the gate and to the left afer you and Meg complete the gen.

7. Escaping the Trial (No RNG)
Final part of the run is super easy. Run to the hatch and escape. There is an option to open the door and escape that way but it takes a lot longer. There are two pop-up boxes at the beginning of this section. Jump in the hatch and the run will be over!

In conclusion, this is definitely one of the most competitive categories of this game to run. There are a lot of optimizations with skillchecks and becoming efficient at the pop-up boxes. Good luck fellow survivors! May RNG be ever in your favor.

Trap% Solo, Updated Efficient Strategy.

Survivor Loadout:
No Mither
Resilience
Spine Chill
Sprint Burst

These are by far the best set of perks for Trap% Solo.
No Mither gets you downed fast.
Sprint Burst to find Pig.
Spine Chill + Resilience gets you searching boxes 15% faster, with great skill checks more likely.
Find the killer ASAP then get trapped, get freed and repeat.

Killer Loadout:
Agitation.

This is the only perk that provides any possible benefit. There is no way to gain a PWYF stack without creating and losing a chase, which in itself would negate the benefit PWYF would give.
Agitation makes you pick survivors up faster, all you need to do here is find the survivor, down, trap, carry to a box, drop at 75-80% wiggle and let them free themselves. Repeat once and call time. Easy.

Absolute guaranteed time spent is:
Recovery from lunge = 3 seconds.
2x Trap placement = 6.6 seconds
2x Box Search / 1.15 = 24 / 1.15 = 20.87 seconds. (Great skill checks can affect this howver)
2x Frame perfect Wiggle + Frame perfect drop: 12 x 2 =  24 seconds.

So the lower bound on the time is somewhere around 54.47.
I doubt sub 1 is truly possible without incredible spawns and ridiculous RNG. I would put the cap on this run at 1:10, unless new survivor or killer perks are released.

Oh and best map is definitely Coal Tower :)
