Chibi Knight 100% Guide By LoyaltyXZ

Hey guys! Chibi Knight has to be my favorite flash game of all time, and I love speedrunning. One day I searched on Youtube to see if anyone had done any%/100%, and I saw Auriplane's any% god run, and it inspired me to try running . I've tried any%, (and god is it hard,) so I decided to route out 100%. Here's the resulting guide.

Tips/Tricks

Nothing much here, but you can fast walk on the overworld by using Up+Down+Left/Right. Another experimental trick is magic menu damage canceling, on the frame before or the frame you would take damage, you open the magic menu to cancel the damage. (See Auriplane's run, he does this vs. Canyon Beast.

Route

Fastwalk to bridge, farm first wave of xp, try to skip fighting. Fight Canyon Beast, take one hit, upgrade sword, then armor to take another hit. Kill him and upgrade sword. Go back to bridge and deathwarp. Save Carl in the palace, get the Magic Attack from the wizard, and go fight Lenny. Basically hope for god RNG now. Upgrade sword, go north and get axe after killing Lenny. Cut down the Healing Wizard tree, and cut down big trees for 100 planks. Get the shield spell, get the heal spell, and go into the dungeon, fastwalking when you can. The dungeon is RNG hell, hope for minimal encounters. Get the 2 keys on floor 1, on floor 2 go into the torch for the fireball spell. Collect the key on floor 2 and go to floor 3, open the door to the knights. Kill Green Knight, hope for RNG, get upgrades in sword. Kill Red Knight, not much skill here. Kill Purple Knight and just hope for good cycles on the flames. Proceed to the final boss. Here's where you use magic for the only time, use the shield spell right when you get into the final fight. Kill the left orb, right orb, and top orb. The final fight is pretty self explanatory, and shouldn't give you too much trouble if you use the shield spell. Congrats, and happy running!

Boss Strategies

Canyon Beast

Slash until you get level 1 sword, taking the first hit intentionally. Keep slashing away and upgrade armor, (or do the RNG heavy spell menu cancel,) and kill him off. On cycle 2 and 3 jump over the furballs and you won't take any damage, they only hurt you if you get hit by the explosion they make when they hit the ground.

Lenny

Pray to RNGesus.

Green Knight

Pray to RNGesus for 2 cycle. Hopefully you get an early hit in and can finish him off only going over his head once.

Red Knight

Hack and slash. Literally the easiest boss. Not even any RNG.

Purple Knight

Oh god... try to get him to 2/3 health before he starts his first spin. he should be 1/3~ health when he spins away to the right side. You can now either follow him to the right side and hope for RNG on fire, or just wait for him like a sissy, like me! :D

Demon Beast

Activate shield spell, kill the left orb standing on the far right side of the orb. Kill the right one by dodging mid-air. Jump up the stairs and hope you don't get hit while killing the top orb. Then just stay up top and mash attack when he can be hit.

Glitch compendium

Pressing the S key during Canyon Beasts attack negates it.
Holding up and down simultaneously while going left or right makes you go faster.
C'mon we all know these two.

If you have some lag on the spawn point hold left, up, and down. Continue to hold them and you will be pushed out of bounds do this a little bit longer and you can get to the loading screen with a controllable character.

On the bridge if you die by hitting a spider and fall in a hole you will hear the death sound twice. But that's not all!
You will have your death counter go up by 2. as well as spawning a blob next to the final bird. If you get hit before the second spider the blob wont spawn.

The tower is the glitchiest place in the game. Here are a few things you can do there.
When entering the tower start quickly pressing the P key to cancel the darkening screen animation and hold either up left or up right. If you hold up left you will be warped to the north key on the first floor. If you hold up right you get warped to the key on the second floor.
if you enter the tower normally and try to leave then press the P key and hold up left. You will be warped out of the tower near the demon beast.
Also inside the tower normally if you try the above warp glitch and keep hitting the P key you will be kicked out of the tower then put back inside. But while you are continuously pressing the P key you alternate pressing up and down while walking left you can randomly access colors of armor you can't normally get. One is a different brown than the starting armor, the next one is blue almost like the water but a little different, and the last one is my favorite which is PINK!! But once you move the color will disappear :( 

If when doing the warp from outside the tower you get it perfectly you can clip through the corner and it will push you into the demon beasts loading zone instead of going inside the tower. p.s this saves 3 seconds if done perfectly but is much trickier and not as reliable when speed running you should probably stick with the wrong warp from inside the tower.

If you pause on the same exact frame as exiting somewhere such as one of the wizard areas you will have the screen stay paused but able to move around. If you have downloaded a .sfw of chibi knight and have it fullscreen then you can still complete the game this way because you can still see on the sides.

If you die on the same frame as hitting a loading zone the death animation will be cancelled and you will immediately spawn at the beginning
If you die on the same frame as a boss die, you cannot fight that boss again, as it's considered dead, which means that you can't collect its item either ! So it's kinda like a soft-lock (Thanks to g0goTBC for these two credit goes to him.)

Improved Routes for All Categories

While speedrunning this game, I've discovered a few glitches that can cut off a lot of time in every category. In those routes, XP requirements will be strict, so if you miss, for example, a full combo on the first boss fight, the run will be slower and harder to do.

Any%

-> go to bridge
get to the other side by abusing damage boosts. You need to be at low health after that.

->First boss fight
Get a full combo by abusing S-buffer (93 hits), upgrade sword 3 times.

->Go to bridge
Take a hit from the first enemy that you see. (death warp)

->Second boss fight
simply slash sword while being close to the boss. you can 2-cycle him really easily

->Enter the castle
enter the door to exit the castle, pause while the transition is happening and hold up-left, this should put you past the castle on the overworld map. (thanks to Kiodah for that one, this is both faster and easier than abusing lag)
Or perform the Outer Castle Skip, it is frame and pixel perfect way of doing the castle skip that pushes you into the demon beast loading zone, saving about 4 seconds.

->Final boss fight
Break the sheild orbs (this should give you sword level 4)
Beat the boss.
GG.

Safer route (recommended) :
upgrade armor 1 time then sword 3 times in the first fight.




Glitchless (upgrades may not be optimal)

-> go to bridge
get to the other side by abusing damage boosts.

->First boss fight
Upgrade armor once then sword twice. If you kill the boss fast enough, you do not need to dodge anything.

->Go to bridge
Jump over the bird  and fall into the pit. (easier strat : get hit by the bird, slightly slower to do so.)

->Second boss fight
simply slash sword while being close to the boss. You can 3-cycle him, but a 4-cycle is recommended if you can't slash fast enough or if you are unlucky with Lenny.

-> Go to castle
Go through the intended way. Try to skip as many encounter by abusing damage boost (especially for the purple guys that take forever to die.) Only upgrade sword in that section.

Easier strat: Get level 5 sword with about 275XP before getting to the 3 Knights. Killing the Red Knight will give you enough XP to get the level 6 sword. 

->Green Knight
Hard strat (saves 2-3 seconds)
Go behind him.
Hit 8 rocks.

Easy strat:
Go behind him.
Try to hit 6 rocks.
Go to the left. 
Finish him.


->Red Knight
dodge the hammer.
Take away half of his life.
Go to the right to make him throw his hammer really far from him.
Finish him.
Upgrade everywthing you want.

->Purple Knight

strat with level 5 sword (hard):
Deal some damage
Go on the left platform and jump to dodge Purple Knight.
Deal some more damage.
Go on the right platform, jump to dodge Purple Knight.
Finish him.

Strat with level 6 (very easy)
Deal some damage.
Go on the left platform and jump to avoid Purple Knight.
Finish him.

-> Final boss fight
Break the 3 orbs.
Kill him.
GG.




All Spells 

->Village
Get magic

->First boss 
Abuse S-buffer to get a 96 combo, upgrading 1 armor, then 3 swords.

-> To the bridge
Fall off the bridge

->Temple
Free the fairy.

->Second boss fight
->Axe

->Go to the secret house in the forest while cutting trees.
Get Heal

Finish getting 100 wood.

->Go to destroyed village
get Sheild

->to Castle
Wrong warp to get near the third key, get Fire.
Reset or death warp.
Castle Skip.

->Final boss fight
Upgrade to sword level 4 if you haven't already.
Beat the boss

Pro tip: try to barely get enough XP for sword level 4, as you won't trigger extra, useless upgrades afterwards.





100%
->Get magic

->First boss fight
Abuse S-buffer to farm XP to get Level 8 armor and level 8 magic. Leave the fight as many times as needed.
Start from a fresh fight to upgrade to level 3 sword. Finish him.

->To bridge
fall in the hole for a death warp.

->Free the fairy

->Second boss
using magic one-shots him.

->Axe
->Heal
->Shield

->Castle

In the castle, you need to get as much XP as possible in order to save time in the last boss fight.
You can also use magic in boss fights or during fights against spiders.

->Green Knight
go behind him.
Try to hit 6 rocks.
Go to the left. 
Finish him.

->Red Knight
dodge the hammer.
1-cycle him

->Purple Knight
take away half of his life.
jump on the platform, and jump again.
Finish him while he's stunned.

->Last boss fight
Farm to upgrade sword to level 7 then 8.
Use magic to kill the boss.
Use 2 magic spells and sword to kill the eye.
