That 3 player burglar skip is wild. I can only imagine how awful it was trying to actually get it.

Just accidentally erased my save and don't have a backup so I'll have to play through the game again.

On Windows, the save data is in the same folder that several (but not all) Microids games use,

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Microids\Totally Spies! - Cyber Mission

All settings and game progress are in one plain text JSON file, saveSteam for the Steam version (no Steam Cloud support though). Should be easy for me to put together a save editor for at least the level stats and collectibles. I'll make a new thread when I have some code.

In the museum it's possible to activate the fans out of order, and the lasers and boss will still follow the intended sequence. You can hit the last one first, then do the rest in order without having to worry about the boss.

Nice, I managed to figure out that museum laser strat by myself. Seemed very logical with the existence of laser lag clips. Right now, I think I have an 11:37 on Museum which can definitely go down a fair bit.

I found a better way to do the OOB in AIYA Academy Outdoors. You get OOB further along in the level and you can travel OOB all the way into the indoors entrance. You can get through the whole section in about a minute.

1P docks skip, you have to reset the ai's auto walk timer before you set it up or they will walk away early. and some more window hold skips + another AIYA oob with no enemy clip + character wheel storage which is useless?

Nice stuff. I looked at that Museum box route and I figured out how it can be optimised further. While Alex is moving the box for the first time, get one of the other spies onto that pole. Have them roll in place so Alex can pull the box again before Spy 2 can run away. Spy 2 will be on the pole and then they can move down after the box has been pulled (you can also use the time to set up Spy 3). Spy 3 can then lag clip onto the pole, Alex can pull the box again and voila. Alex stays on the box the whole time and you eliminate one of the lag clips.

That AIYA OOB is neat although IDK if it would actually be faster. I can also recall it being easily possible to climb up on one of the backpacks in the classroom to climb over a table without a lag hold. Character wheel storage definitely seems interesting. Might not have any significant uses but it’s still something we should keep an eye on. The highlight however is the dock strat, it’s very wild.

Man I was trying that other AIYA OOB through the breakable boxes but I couldn't get myself to clip. I really need to figure out what makes clipping so hard for me in some places and free in others.

The docks strat is great also because that area's save point is broken (as well as a few others): if you're doing a deathless run casually, and you try to load that save point after getting spotted, the candy dispen-shooter in Sam's section doesn't work so you have to restart the whole level instead. Hopefully they patch that and leave most of our skips alone.

A couple more exploits. The first one shows a way to skip the loading zone in the museum. You can do the OOB after skipping the museum loading zone (it's finnicky with the moving CPUs but it can be done) but you need all three spies in order to actually traverse the viking room. Unless you can find a way to get one spy into the Viking room, I don't think an earlier viking room can happen.

The second exploit is something I found super early on. Day 2 I believe. It is possible to respawn at switches after getting caught. Since nobody else had posted anything on it, I thought I might as well share it.

There's also another museum thing I didn't put in this video. You can skip the first room with a 2 player spy stack (climbing up the backpacks near one of the pillars and then running over the desk) although I think it would only maybe be faster in a co-op run. It would probably be too slow for 1p2c.

Do you respawn at switches by interacting again immediately after getting caught?

I think you need to interact with the switch a second time shortly before the game reloads. Too early and you will load at the checkpoint as normal.

1P method for burglar skip. you just lag past the clover zone so you don't softlock the game. also grabbing checkpoints early makes it so that when the zone loads in you get put at the latest checkpoint in that loaded zone which is why alex skips that whole room after beating the clover area

Wonderful. Getting past that one fake loading zone is annoying but it is doable with a roll. Thank goodness you have a reload point in that section. At least we no longer have to rely on that 3 player stacking strat.

Alternate Burglar skip route. Have Sam clip through the wall and progress further to hit a checkpoint, causing you to spawn further along after hitting Alex's trigger. IDK if its faster but it seems like a good idea since you use Sam anyway to check that Clover actually clipped. I also show off other things during the route like overlapped cutscenes, the fact that you don't need to find the Burglar traces after reloading from the bonus room and consistent NSwitch lag holds.

I also show off a couple of clips in the sewers in the same level as well as that 2 player Museum room 1 skip I mentioned before.

I haven't actually played on easy yet, is it easier to outrun enemies and switch spies? I keep getting locked out of trying to switch when I'm in the orange and I don't know if that's just a thing with hard mode.

You can’t switch spies if you are in an enemy’s sight radius, that is normal. You can occasionally do it while rolling if you are lucky but for the most part, you cannot be too close to the enemies. You generally have to be ahead of the enemy radius in order to switch characters.

Nice, nice. I did wonder if something was possible in the Burglar sewers and using the character wheel for setting up 1p2c movement is smart.

I’ve thought more about 1p2c in runs and I do see an issue for ILs. Whenever you quit out and reload a level, it also resets your in level time. This means that you can reset as many times as you want and face no in game consequences. It seems pretty logical to not allow this for ILs as it would lead to easy cheating (free splicing) but it could also close off the possibility for 1p2c. Cheating would still be just as applicable with 1p2c with quitting out being that easy gateway. As an additional sidenote, there are levels like Burglary where you pretty much always need to be in co-op to do the co-op strats and at that point, it would very much be a 2 player run and it would be better to have an actual second player.

If you guys want to share your own thoughts on the matter then do feel free.
