Rules dont tell you anything. -Can a car be upgraded? -Is timer IGT or real time? -Do cuts count?

The page layout is not good and needs to change. Every track shouldnt be a different category, Each category should have every track.

These categories also suck. Why stop listing car divisions after open wheel racers and nascar? Wheres Forza Gt? Sport Compact? Have separate categories for rental and modified. Where are the single player Builders Cup events?

Sorry for the delay, I've been super busy. Let me chime in.

I made the categories this way as to be similar to other racing games where fastest laps are usually the main attraction.

If you look at FM7, no one played it as it seems to me like no one cares its Cup categories. People only ran the main 1 minute category, which is sad.

This format seems to be more appealing to me and other runners as well.

Since FM was reset with the new 2023 iteration, I thought it's a good idea to recenter focus on fastests laps as well.

I could add Cup Events of top of it too, but I'm personally against removing fastests laps categories.

To be noted, 2 years after its release, there was still no leaderboard for this game, so I decided to create one and change the format to make it more appealing, as it seemed to me that the old format wasn't appreciated by many people.

  • In FM7, nobody wanted to run the cup events because there was no way to restart the cup or reset the run quickly. Did you mess up on the second race and just wanna start back at the first one? Too bad, now you gotta do the rest of the races before getting to try again. That's 20+ minutes in between runs. Now in fm23 you can RESTART THE SERIES WITHOUT FINISHING IT! Make them a category. There is no reason not to.
  • Reasonably priced car was an absolute genius idea and I ended up getting second after grinding it for a week straight. It was a short event that can be rerun quickly, had a clear indication of what's allowed and its something we all dreamed off doing as a kid; but we would never be able to get a leaderboard in game for it. With the copyright or likenesses to get their actual times and so on. This made sense as a community driven leaderboard.
  • Nobody said we wanted to remove the fastest lap cats. I said "Why stop listing car divisions after open wheel racers and nascar?"... when there's another 100 cars that you would never use? I believe the in game rivals classes are flawed aswell. They don't follow speedrunning norms or categories, so there should be a leaderboard for the other divisions. All of them. Not just some fast cars that can get to x class or hit 260 mph, the rest of the divisions.
  • In order to get runners into your leaderboard, you need a rule set that is very upfront with what's allowed and what's not. The run should be skill based enough to open the skill ceiling through grinding and game knowledge. Resetting the run should be the easiest thing to do and take less than 2 minutes. Lastly is maybe filling in your resources or guides so new players can understand the specifics without having to research stuff they don't know.

I volunteer to set the leaderboards up this way and do the resources. The only issue I could possibly imagine is getting the 5 players on here to resubmit their runs to the then updated leaderboard format.

Adding to those before me I would suggest adding one or better two trackvariants of the Nürburgring.

I was working on the full track, as it is the legendary circuit of the Nordschleife combined with the shorter GP version, which is the full version of the track that also holds the legendary 24 hours race every year.

The runners submitting times have been doing so for the GP track, which is fine, but I was working on a time for the full Nürburgring when the first time got set and so I just aborted going for it as I didn't want to tell anyone they did the wrong track. (Cause they didn't, it's just not differentiated between those.)

So I would say those two more variations would be a good addition to the tracklist. One 'Nürburgring - Nordschleife' and one 'Nürburgring Full Track' also naming the given Version, where the times are already set, the extra of 'GP Version' or 'GP Track' would be optimal.
