There are three main factors that determine the speed of a Win% run:
-
How many rounds you play
-
How quickly you get a shot off
-
How quickly the shot goes in
Number of Rounds Played (Most Important) The biggest factor in your final time is how many rounds you play—this depends on whether you get double points once, twice, or not at all. Playing four or five rounds instead of three can add 10 seconds or more to your run.
Speed and Efficiency of Shooting You should aim to shoot quickly and make the shot on your first attempt. Missing and needing multiple shots will significantly slow you down. I recommend using the strategy from my 17.071 Win% run
Win the jump ball
Land
Immediately jump again and shoot
This method helps ensure fast and consistent shots.
Shot Trajectory and Rim Time You want your shots to go directly into the hoop. If the ball bounces on the rim for a few seconds before going in, it can cost you time. While this doesn’t affect the run as much as the previous two factors, over 3–5 rounds it can add up.
Conclusion For a great Win% run:
Hope to get 2 double points
Win face-offs consistently
Shoot quickly and accurately
Minimize rim bounce time
