The reason why the flight levels are individually ranked is because they have an in-game timer
120% has set routing for each level, with only minimal improvisation needed; and is relatively free of RNG. The better you are at 120% the better your time will be. Any% is pretty chaotic comparatively, as Jumpyluff explained. Many sections of the run can instantly kill it. It also ends with Twilight Skip/Rat Proxy so even a good time is never guaranteed to PB.
So I've recently injured my right hand to the point of being unable to use a playstation controller (I normally run Spyro the Dragon), and i was wondering if there were any controller/keyboard setups which accommodate a single hand. Alternatively, I was wondering if there were any games which can be played with just one hand. Earthbound comes to mind but I'm hazy on the details
Whats the best way to count frames on a video? I've been using ctrl+left/right on mpc but I've gotten my times wrong
Also check out the guides, especially Chris' 120% mechanics video. Dayoman also has an ongoing guide for 120% on youtube. And don't be shy to ask questions during streams.
Thanks for the advice, I've managed to get a more consistent gnorc cove proxy by simply gliding above the barrel.
Is there a guide for the skips that are used in Any%? For example the Wall jump in Town Square or the Gnorc Cove barrel proxy.
My Ape Escape Any% No IJ run stands at 1:28:19, but I recently beat it twice; once with a 1:22:17 and most recently with a 1:17:55. My first run got verified within one day, but my first update was still awaiting verification by the time I had improved it; I subsequently deleted the request and added a new one. My question is this: Are run verifications taken seriously if they merely improve the time of a user instead of beating someone else's time or getting World Record?
My main concern is not getting my time up, but rather not annoying the moderators with my requests
I found by holding x to skip pre-level cutscenes you appear to skip them on the first frame. This however leads to audio glitches, odd objects appearing in game and the game crashing, is this known? Is there anyway around this?
