Stand in front of the door (can't enter it while skidding) and pause. Hold UP, then Exit the level while continuing to hold UP.

If done right, you'll enter the door as you exit the level and skip the results screen.

The in game time shows fractions of a second. 1 tenth of a second (0.1) is 100 ms.

But this site does not allow you enter decimals values for times, so you must convert it to ms.

Beat the Demon is beat the "Demon" that spawns from the temple. Any% is beat the "Demon Lord" that spawns from the cathedral.

The Any% category was added after the Island update since there was now a new "ending" to the game.

Any% requires defeating the Demon Lord.

100% requires defeating all 3 bosses.

There's a guide for downloading past versions of steam games here. It's for another game, so you'll have to find the depot and manifest ID for Stacklands yourself. They should both be available on steamdb.

Haven't tried it for Stacklands though.

With sub-categories, there should always be some interest in making those runs, especially in smaller communities.

Otherwise, they will sit pointlessly empty and make one question what the point of having them even is.

And if not, they will serve to "split" the community, and I'd rather have everyone under one umbrella than on two half-sized leaderboards all for a relatively small gameplay change. If it were a major content patch like the devs say they've been working on, it'd make more sense.

The latest patch (1.0.10) reduced the sell price of rocks and trees to 0, making it impossible to constantly rebuy the Humble and Wisdom packs.

Since this significantly impacts runs, I was wondering how game version should be handled.

Are runners allowed to use whatever version of the game they want? Or should they always use the most recent version?

My problem with no clear save is that, if you just did another category, you're "forced" to do a dummy run where you unlock all packs and clear the idea cards.

Additionally, in normal play, unlocking packs is part of overall game progression, even if they're across multiple runs. It just feels awkward to have a category where technically you start in the middle of game progression instead of at the beginning.

For all categories, I think it should be required for "Clear Save" to be used before every run to reset quest and pack progress.

For All Packs and Cardopedia it goes without saying, but for Beat the Demon, it should be clarified.

Starting with every pack and idea cards removed from pools can change the routing significantly. Plus, I think it's more interesting to need to take quests into account for runs.

All Chapters can still use glitches, but cannot skip any chapters like any% does.

1.0 has unpatched glitches that can save a lot of time.

In 100%, 1.0 and 1.1 were routed by different runners, completely separate from each other. Even accounting for patched glitches, the 1.0 run uses a lot of strategies that the 1.1 run does not which further exaggerates the time difference.

In any%, the biggest change was a singular blocked path which prevents 1.1 from skipping chapters 2-5.
