So I've been thinking about trying to run the game, and I can see the need for separation between DVD runs and HDD runs, but I'm also concerned about the wear to the laser that will irrefutably make a difference between runs, as someone with a heavily used laser assembly will have slower loading times (some tests I've done with different PS2s can have as much as 0.5 seconds of difference when loading the same content from disc). It's not a real problem for me "per se", but I was wondering if setting the "emulate DVD speed" flag on the HDD loader would be acceptable to submit DVD runs, specially as hardware ages and lenses are no longer being manufactured, making the matter of getting a replacement lens more difficult as time goes on. Again, just wondering, not looking for a way to circumvent the ruleset!
