Those true glitchless rules are very old now and I don't really know anything about them.. True glitchless is a dumb category but I guess that pastebin was the best attempt of someone to try and get a list of rules down. There are newer things like alt-climbs which aren't mentioned and there are also some oversights which you rightly raised.

The best idea if you want to run the aidsfest that is true glitchless is to just not do anything remotely out of the ordinary. Go through the game holding W and do nothing fast = true glitchless.

So medb.faith is due to expire soon and I'm not entirely sure whether it'll be renewed (it's an external guy who pays for it), so I thought I'd copy one of the most useful posts on there over here. I've used this a bunch of time and can't thank BBGN enough for it, it's a fantastic wealth of everything you might ever need to run/practice Mirror's Edge.

This post is three years old now, there have been a lot of programs, pastebins and the like used since then which I've forgotten or don't know about. If there are, send them over to me.

Timer: Livesplit: http://livesplit.org/ It is HIGHLY recommended that every Single Segment runner of this game, regardless of category, use Livesplit. This is because the No-Loads plugin for Mirror's Edge only works on Livesplit.

You should not have to download the plugin to remove loads externally anymore unless you are on an older version of Livesplit. There should be an option in the Livesplit menu to download Load Removal, under "Edit Splits." To access this load removal, set your game to "Mirror's Edge," NOT "Mirror's Edge (PC)."

I don't think a category should have such 'precise' rules.. Like you can't just say "Quitting out and reloading is banned apart from in this instance and in this instance, in which case it's fine", as well as "You MUST go the intended route apart from in this one precise area of the game and this other precise area of the game". Similarly, "intended route" is vague and could mean several different things per area.

If you want to run a category for casual players who might not know/want to learn the harder glitches, just run glitchless.

Edit: Also, playing through training every single run would make me want to stab my eyes out, and I can't imagine many new casual players finding much casual solace by playing training a million times.

Sup ladies and lads, it's been a while, but I want to do a few runs of HP2 and try and get a bit better at the game since I never really got that far.

Anyway, since I last played I've upgraded to Windows 10 and now HP2 won't run at all. Whether I run it from autorun or game, it just won't boot up. Even running as an admin, literally nothing happens. I've tried reinstalling which still didn't help, I was thinking about pirating a copy to see if that made any difference but I don't see how it would..

I did a bit of googling but couldn't find any answer, and I thought you guys would be my best shot these days. So if anyone has had a similar problem or has a possible solution, I'd really appreciate the help. I also had no idea where the hell to contact you guys these days so I went with this, it doesn't look like these forums are particularly active though so it's a long shot x.x

Naechster I had practically no idea who you were or that you had an issue with anyone/all of us in the community until today. As far as I knew, you were just someone who played the game a long long time ago and then disappeared, and who everyone remembered by typing ".naechster" before any SRL race as a laugh.

When did I ever talk shit about time trials? I never ran that category because I prefer any%, I never said I hated time trials. Where are you coming up with this crackpot bullshit? I've always liked it as a category, time trials are great, just never wanted to run it seriously.

This is all besides the point anyway, Naechster you can keep attacking me even though I doubt you'd heard anything about me until this thread, or you can insult some other people, but the point is that literally everyone in this thread disagrees with you, and especially with how you go about dealing with issues like this. If you want people to respect you or take what you have to say seriously, you need to not insult people, you need to calm the fuck down, and you need to be reasonable with the wishes of the rest of the community.

This is the most ridiculous fucking thread I've ever seen. I don't know how or why Naechster started thinking that everyone in the community is part of some conspiracy in which we try and piss him off as much as possible. Most of us didn't even know about this until today when this blew up, and we literally couldn't care less.

We didn't have a "teamspeak round" of "licking each other's dicks" just to try and piss Naechster off, we didn't even talk about any of this on teamspeak. It was just a mutual consensus several months ago that 69 Stars is a better name. If this community is going to be even remotely democratic then the name of the category is changed and that is that.

So Naechster can continue going on insulting everyone and thinking that the world is against him on some mental conspiracy, and everyone else can go back to not even knowing he exists, and that will be that.

So quite a while ago now, the community as a large majority (pretty much everyone bar naechster, I guess) decided that 69 Stars makes more sense than 69% - the objective of the category is to get 3 stars in every single core ME time trial, which adds up to 69 stars. Anyway, it was mainly because it gets quite annoying new people in chat asking what "69%" is all the time, and 69 Stars might be a bit more self-explanatory.

So that happened, and Naechster (pretty much the only one to not like that change), was pissed because he "invented" that category and named it as such. Anyway, as you can see he's completely unreasonable and has the most ridiculous attitude to anything. The ME community isn't "licking Req's dick", we just all agree with him on this.

Anyway, I'll change the category to 69 stars and leave it that way for the reasons I gave.
