I think it is the same thing, but with the joy-cons you can do downthrows with motion controls, which the pro cons can't do. Keep in mind that joy-cons can have joy-con drift.

If you see in the level leaderboard there is actually a new dark side wr with the broodal boss fight skip, but i don't actually know how much does it save.

I would actually like to know how much time does it saves compared to Physical, but I know that v1.3.0 Digital saves around 10 seconds compared to v1.0.0 Physical. Hope that answered your question.
