Yes it is. But I have to put this on hold because of some things going on in life. Hopefully, I can get back to this in a few weeks.

Ah, yes. Well I was aware that something like that would happen. This idea mainly was added on from an idea that I had for a channel to just have runners practice marathon type runs since those runs turn out much differently than a normal run. With or without viewers, I was thinking that it could help some runners get some kind of practice if they was going to be running in their first marathon for something like SGDQ, ESA, or something else like that.

With that said, I do plan on getting some special guests. But I want to try and have a good hold on things first beforehand. Because it would just seem childish to ask a popular runner to be in something like this if there isn't any solid ground to it. That's why I would like to start off with some tests and then get a few popular runners for when the real thing starts off.

Thanks for the replies guys. Though I'm still trying to figure a few things out, I would like to have a somewhat decent schedule to start off with. At least to have some testing done first and actually start the stream after SGDQ.

With recent talk of ESA and SGDQ and everyone practicing marathon type runs, I thought of an idea. An idea that may or may not have been done or is being done now.

But anyway. I want to try and do a marathon. But not a marathon for charity, as that will be done later if this works out well. But like a 24/7 marathon that can be done by different runners of different games. I want it to be done in a way so that unknown runners can get noticed and unknown speed games can be noticed as well. Scheduling would be made so that it could fit for runners and viewers of different time zones as best as it can be. And any games and categories would be fine, but really long runs would be on certain days like the weekend or something. But every so often there would be events for certain runs and games. As for how it will be streamed, I was thinking of just letting the current runner use the stream key for the twitch channel in whatever they use to stream. I got the idea from what Globe_Runners did for their marathon. I would like to believe that everyone will be responsible and adult about it, but the stream key will be reset after a while though to be safe. I might make a few requirements to stream on the channel as well.

So with all that said, anyone that wants to help and/or run in the marathon are welcome to. Please feel free to respond here or message me on Twitch. I would like a few people to help me with running the channel as well and a youtube and twitter account if wanted.

Thanks in advance.

My fellow poor men (and women Kappa ). We are not blessed with the funds to have the greatest in streaming technology. We do not have the means to properly stream the games we want from our consoles because it's a pain when our computers struggle with PC games. We do not want world record from our runs, just decent times. We want to give a good streaming experience to viewers and non-viewers alike just like our fellow speedrunners with slightly better specs than us. So I say that we should form a group. A group of low-spec runners. We will help each other improve our streaming ways over time. We will teach others how to get by as a follow low-spec. We will use our webcams to stream our consoles. We will show those high-spec runners that we are not intimidated by their massive bit-rates and HD abilities. So join the cause of being a low-spec runner as we all share the same goal. To beat a game really really fast!

This is as much as I know. So someone else will most likely know better.

  1. Unless you're going against someone else's splits, you have to put them in yourself. Other people's splits can be downloaded, but I don't know where. You'll have to ask someone for theirs, I guess.

  2. That depends on the game. It has that function for some, but you'll most likely will have to split manually.

  3. I don't understand what you're asking with that one. Sorry.

  4. Right click > Settings

I hope this helps some.

It seems like OBS is fighting whatever you normally use for streaming. Try disabling all the sound settings for OBS since you're only using it for splits. Or at least the mic.

Yeah it would be good to have another game to run when you take a break from your current game.

That moment when you're waiting for your game take make the list. Kappa

Hey there, I'm Crescentflame. I'm on and off with my speedrunning and the game that I run is Dynamite Cop on my Dreamcast emulator. Due to that, I sometimes get a bit of laaaaaaaaaaaaag in a run or two. But it's still fun for me either way.
