Hey. It's good to see a funOrb game on speedrun.com. I haven't played this game as much as some of the others but I do remember it being pretty fun. You should join the funOrb Discord server! There's a few people there who have gotten pretty good at Zombie Dawn from their experience going for highscores in it. Their expertise could prove useful for routing and optimizing speedruns.
Basically what the title says. Tabbing out of the game and then back in fixes the lag, but on my computer, it also causes yellow squares and rectangles to appear around various objects in the game. The yellow square that appears around the ball obscures other objects it passes over, making it annoying to aim the ball at stuff.
I tried various different compatibility settings, but nothing seems to fix it. Any ideas? I'm running a fairly modern pc with Windows 10. The lag is not too bad on my computer, so I might even do a few runs with it, but after a certain point the time loss from the lag will be too big to ignore.
Update: I think I found a pretty good solution. By running Frozen Fruits through a program called DxWnd, I was able to fix both the lag and the yellow rectangles, and on top of that, DxWnd can make the game run in a window, meaning I can now run the game with a timer and splits. Just a couple things I had to do to get it work: Uncheck all compatibility settings I had set for Frozen Fruits, and run DxWnd as an administrator. Then as a couple preferences, I set the window size to 1280 x 960, and selected the desktop center option. The game runs great now. The screen seems to scroll faster, but that's just something to get used to.
