For easier testing, you can use the debug menu

Press K+O+F1 (hold all together) to open it.

In older versions, the menu is a list of cards you can spawn. But in the newer versions, it lets you unlock all ideas, easily access island, dark forest, and other stuff like that.

Additionally, there's a mod on the workshop called "Debug cheats" that makes using the debug menu easier. Make sure you unsubscribe from the mod before doing the run. Toggling the mod off works but it's funky.
