Depending on how we want to count when the "10th life" is achieved in the games memory it would be 5 frames after the 1UP text appears for the last time which would make this run 1:47.955 based on that standard. But I don't see any reason why we would need to for this. Played on original hardware.
This completes my sweep of the 10 lives category world records! The run starts on attempt 136. I kept the start of 135 in for the funny conversation that started just before the record. This run requires a good amount of technical knowledge that I didn't know about before I started attempting this. There is still time to save in 1-2 either by getting the wallclip first try or if you can do the 1-2 clip with small mario that would save a lot more time but the subpixels would be tricky to line up so idk how viable that would be but I kinda want to try it out. The trick to get the Koopa to float midair in 1-2 was the one that killed almost every attempt and is frustratingly frame perfect. Beyond that the rest of the run you can almost garauntee to at least finish.
