Why do you think it takes so long to check and new results do not appear in the speedrans of the Set Seed category, have the moderators abandoned this category, and is there any reason to play in it at all?
A lot of people submit runs, and it takes a long time to verify
Yes, because Minecraft ha the most cheaters that splice runs.
I agree with you, but still speedrans in the Random Seed category are accepted every day for several pieces, and there has been no reception of speedrans for more than 3 months.
@OtakuIsBetterThanSG Coming from a person with a rickroll pfp, I beg to differ. Just because splicing exists doesn't mean every single run is spliced. And I don't know if it has the most spliced runs. Take Henning Blom in Goldeneye 007 for example. Spliced like 7+ runs.
Of course, there are people who splice runs, but it is way harder to splice runs in Minecraft compared to that of Goldeneye due to many more factors needing to be exactly the same between splices. This is easier in goldeneye as there is much less to worry about when one is splicing, again take Henning for example (who definitely didn't do a good job at it, at least on his most notable frigate run).
There are 722 runs in the queue for Minecraft Java Edition as of right now, totaling over 570 hours of footage to watch through If you wanna watch the queue for this (or any other) game you can use this page: https://randomidiot13.github.io/queueclient-web/
48,13333 hour of verification for each mod in average and the pretty much last run of the leaderboard is of like 110 days ago so thats pretty meh lol but ye there is a lot of work in the site of this game
That's all right, but then why won't they take more moderators? Wouldn't it be easier then to recruit 50 people for moderation, which is pretty normal with a stable online of 750?
Personally, I see the solution to the problem in the following, hire more moderation, put part in the Random Seed category and part on Set Seed, distribute responsibilities so to speak, and that's it! What's so difficult about that?
Oh yeah... This is very noticeable when in one category runs are checked in less than a day and in another people wait more than a month, is that normal, do you think?
No, you explain to me maybe we Russians don't understand something... It has always been accepted with us that if there is work, then it is done well and most importantly ALL, and not so that part of the work is done well and part is not done in any way (this does not concern roads).
I feel like it would be easier said than done to get a bunch of people who would actually put the work in when it comes to like. Actually going and checking to make certain that all runs are legitimate, plus retiming all runs to make sure they go in the correct place on the leaderboard, plus moderating the forums, plus keep in mind that most of the mods for this game are ALSO mods for all the category extensions which make up a further 910 runs and another 288 hours, and another 9 runs have been submitted in the last 5 hours for the main game, increasing the time of footage to watch to 589 hours. This is also not a paying job or anything, it's a volunteer thing that they do around their actual jobs and lives you know? It's not a perfect set up but sometimes you just gotta have some patience, this is one of the most popular speedrun games in history it makes sense that the leaderboard will be backed up sometimes
Yes, perhaps you are right. It's not the moderators who are to blame for this, but the system in which they work.
when it comes to forums though, mods don't give a
The moderators have 722 runs under consideration, 28 of them in the Set Seed category, the age of these races reaches 3 months, and this is quite a lot.
@LeafpoolSR I'd like to heavily agree.
The shitpost threads, the dream threads, etc. In over 15 pages mods didn't do a thing.
There aren't enough verifiers, and the mod team is aware of this, they are still very much looking for new people to help. Application forms are in the discord.
