Update: Speedboost Fixed

Dear Speedrunners We really enjoy watching the videos you created and the tricks you figured out while speedrunning our game.

Sadly we have to inform you that the steam-super-boost-bug (where the vehicle sped up to unusual speeds) will be removed in the next update, which will be released tonight and thus making the fastest speedrun obsolete.

The reason for it beeing removed is that it created issues at the end of the game where some players were left without the front part of the vehicle and thus could not finish the game.

We hope this won't daunt you and you will keep speedrunning FAR.

Really awesome you took to the time post on here for us. I, as many others, have thoroughly enjoyed your game and can't blame you for patching it where patches were necessary. When I first played your game I knew I would be speed running it because although it is a simple "go-right" kinda game, it does a very good job of keeping the player involved 95% of the time with checking fuel, setting the sail, management of items, casualty control, and constant forethought into what is coming next. I will look into creating a second category for those who haven't discovered this wonderful little game yet, so that we can continue to find new and faster ways to enjoy [brake] the game. :)

Got a little sad when I saw the post that the god speed boost would get patched out. If the only problem was the issue at the end where you could get left behind I would make it so when it breaks in two to force it to stop there but as I'm writing this it might look a little silly if it just force stop there.

Anyway I'm going to make runs for the new category in the near future as I got the second place on the old leader bord (going to upload it soon) And if needed to you could always play on an older patch anyway so it's fine imo

@Iam87x You're welcome. We figured you guys spent so much time figuring all this stuff out and know the game as well or even better than we do. So you deserve to get a little heads up when we do significant changes. :-) Thank you so much it's great to see people enjoy our game in a completly different way.

@Corewin Yes, that's also the reason we wrote to you. We all enjoyed the bug aswell since you had to know the game very well and gain a huge advantage if you used it right, but it had to go. It created not only issues at the end, but also problems with the weather transitions (the player was in some places to fast so the weather had no time to change which made the background jump to white at occasions) and many other smaller things. But I'm glad you guys take it so well. :-D

@okomotive If you don't mind me asking, what did yall determine the technical reason was why the speed boost was possible?
