Is it cool to start time when we get control of the character, so even if it takes a while to load it's still fair?

Yes you start time once you get control of Dart, and end once you reach the island view.

You can hold inputs to move during black screens like when you first spawn on the shore and you can use that to spawn closer to the hook than normal. What is your ruling on that, with timer and just in general?

I think that's a cool find! But I don't think it would be very fair for people who have slower PCs and have bad load times, the games also kinda unoptimized performance wise, so maybe not a strat for shore, could be used to get Kaia faster tho

i dont think there is any affect with load time because you can only do the inputs during the scripted black screen after you have loaded into the game.

Yeah, so I experimented with it and it hasn't made any significant time improvements, I don't mind I think it's cool little thing but I got a 7:37 without it X)

That is interesting, does it allow you to pick up the hook or only move closer to it? Also if you don't mind could you get a video of it?

I don't think you can pick up hook from it, for the stone I'm 100% sure you can't cause there's a wall that stops you from falling on top of the stone so you can't pick that up, I'll try hook and film

Will I get denied if I don't land on the platform at the end, instead fall through the platform?

did you activate the dialogue at the end?
