i made a video on how to do it i thought because its made in unreal 4 strafe jumping would work but its very different cause you don't gain speed (except for the initial jump) but you conserve speed really well this is the video

if you sprint then jump forward precisely you can launch your character pretty fast it can be used on long stretches to go faster
