I’ll drop you a line after work, thank you!
Hi there!
I've been having a weird issue with the autosplitter where it seems to split perfectly fine for every level with the exceptions of Fear of Flying and STFU.
Wondering if any one had any ideas on what might be causing it. I've tried activating the one via the split editor, using only the ASL file, and neither seems to really make much of a difference.
Hopefully someone's got some idea as to what's up with it. Thank you!
Hi!
We'll be adding an autosplitter to the resources with a new timing method. It'll be done in Game Time, and due to having the autosplitter, the timer will now begin on the first frame you have control of Ravva. It will split on each crystal at the end of each level and on the final hit that kills Cyclops. There will be one for Secret Ending, as well.
The rules will be updated when the autosplitter is added, so just have fun until then!
That's it, good luck in the runs!
Update: Rulings have been updated and the autosplitter uploaded, have fun!
No worries, I popped on yesterday to like 30 notifications and some of them were pretty old. lol Must be from the site overhaul
Right on! Dude, the special ending was hidden really, really well O_o
And thank you for the mod slot, we got this!
Hey! I was curious if there was any chance of adding new categories like Special Ending or whatever else anyone might come up with.
Have a good one!
Thanks
I think I'm as caught up as I can be with this, so here's another two cents. I can only really comment on offline mode as that's what I run, personally. Aside from one thing.
Cheaters - Yep, give them a ban and be done with them. Unfortunately, anyone running with them is going to be under suspicion as well, whether they ran with the person cheating knowingly or not. It might not be fair to the people who weren't cheating, but that's the reality of it. I'm not saying ban the people who were with the cheater, unless you can prove they knowingly did but that would be impossible unless someone had a case of guilty conscience.
Stick figures - Like most everyone else, I have no idea why they were banned initially. I'm not aware of any significant impact they'd make on runs, so that ruling could get tossed out unless the older runners have some reason as to why.
Timers - I think using IGT is fine, as I don't trust a manual timer quite as much.
Visual/Audio Clarity - 480p was just something I threw out as an idea, really. It wasn't meant to gatekeep anyone in any way, so that's my fault for not clarifying more with it. I do agree, as long as you can see what's needed to be seen and hear what needs to be heard, then by all means.
For use of HDD in offline - It just speeds up load times, nothing else. I noticed no difference in how fast the inventory menu popped up without it versus with it. However, if I'm wrong, then I'd support making separate boards.
I just mean a minimum set for what the quality should be before submitting. Like 480/720 for the video. Whatever it needs to be to be clear enough. Basically nothing under 480, is what I would recommend.
So far the only thing I can think of that should be clarified is the audio and video quality.
I agree with the melee rulings because the things you listed as not allowed are not melee in any form.
@Steelll There should be a guide somewhere by @StevenMayte on how to setup LiveSplit. It's invaluable in getting it going if it's still giving you a hassle after getting the files.
You won't be able to get it on a console, but you can still use it on PC while you run on console. You'd have to manually hit the splits, though. Some people use a foot pedal for that. I know some folks who do, like @BashyCake . It's called LiveSplit. I use it mainly to keep track of the items because I'm bad and rarely run this anymore. So, multi-purpose!
Edit: For clarity.
I think Bashy more clearly explained what I was trying to say in my previous posts, soooo...yea, that's what I was going for.
Gotcha, fair enough. I'm down with that too, personally.
Arrange is pretty crucial to it, yea. The quick turning/pivoting will help a lot with maneuvering and dodges.
It'll actually make most of the dodges easier as you can be a little closer to bait out the lunge/whatever and just pivot away. You'll get it, though. It definitely takes practice, but you'll get it!
Definitely agree with Kris. The dpad on the XBone controller feels better suited to...everything.
Good luck on the runs!
@StevenMayte has an excellent LiveSplit tutorial if you haven't seen it already!
Good luck in your runs, and welcome to RE speedrunning. Can't wait to see your times!
