It was never an argument for keeping it, it's just the reason the runs still appear: because they were not yet rejected along with the original run.

The run which was already rejected was 11.3.

There is another possibility which is only allowing picture proof for Cosmic Capers and Spring Time. These are the only minigames which appear in the records section. Other than that I can't see any justification for only allowing picture proof for certain minigames.

To expand on what I said in the Discord server:

• The original 11 second run was already removed, but the runner has multiple runs in the category which were not rejected which is why they appear there now
• The Meet and Greet rules aren't reliable. They don't specify that IGT is used. This is because the minigame categories have been moved around a few times (from IL to full-game) and the rules are not always moved with them. So whether or not picture proof is sufficient cannot be determined by the rules.

Currently the only minigame which clearly accepts picture proof is Cosmic Capers. There's little reason why this minigame should allow it and not others which use in-game time. So the options I suggest:

• Keep it as it is and allow picture proof only for Cosmic Capers
• Allow picture proof for all minigames which use in-game time
• Require video proof for all minigames (means removing picture proven Cosmic Capers runs)
• Remove all in-game time minigames from the leaderboard

The reason for the last option is because these minigames have long been tracked at other places like cyberscore and Video Games Records. The purpose of the speedrun.com leaderboards could be to track minigames which are not tracked elsewhere.

I made my first real progress on Master Janitor today. Got up to Tim #2. The rest is definitely gonna be very hard.

I didn't get the poison bucket from the enemy in the 4th room though. Is there another bucket upgrade later on?

Bad, shows the locations of all the collectables though. Would be a big time save if there's a way to avoid waiting for the enemy at 9:30 to turn around.

Here's my progress on Master Janitor difficulty so far: . I haven't beaten the first boss yet but I've come close. The video has quite a lot of mistakes but I think it's a good route.

However the bounty category isn't any%, it's 100%, so I'm wondering what exactly is required. I've found the following potential collectables (excuse the names):

• Piles of dirt
• Shiny brooms
• Magic spells
• Big hearts

Which of these are required and are there any other necessary items? I see double jump is in the rules which is required to beat the game but I'm not sure where the other ones come from.

Usually this happens because the runs aren't assigned to any subcategory, so they don't show up but still exist as runs.

I can't make much sense of the response, but if you are fine with Website / wiki being used in more ways then so am I. It should be clear though

I don't think you can put all Wikipedia links down to the old labeling. I agree that a concise note is difficult to write. I would suggest something like "Not for wikis unrelated to speedrunning, or direct links to the game".

EDIT:

I'm not sure how prevalent Wikipedia links are now compared to in the past, but one suggestion I just heard is to block Wikipedia links in that field. There's no circumstance that would be the correct usage of it.

Thanks for both including those ellipses. I wanted to be absolutely clear on what the staff intend it to be used for before suggesting any games use it "incorrectly".

I remember when it was labeled as "Website / Wikipedia". That was a while ago though and Wikipedia links are not the only issue. Also, "wiki" still makes some people's minds jump to Wikipedia.

I won't list specific examples of misuse, but if you search 'site:speedrun.com "website / wiki"' you can see how common it is. The issue is of course how few games have a dedicated speedrunning site. It's probably one of the least used features on the site, but since it exists, I think it's a good idea to provide some information on it. Other fields have this, such as "eg, smb2. Optional, must be unique", "For matching streams on Twitch", and "Non-expiring invitation link". Community website / wiki only has the example of "zeldaspeedruns.com", which is not explicit at all.

And yes, even if you put in big capital letters not to link to the Wikipedia article, people would still do it, but it won't hurt to add some clarification to a feature that is so often misused.

I'm glad it is so obvious to you, but if you explain to me what the intended purpose of it is, I'm sure I can find many leaderboards where the purpose was not clear to the moderator.

Can there be a note under the "Community website / wiki" field clarifying the purpose of it?
