I always check this way. It may not be entirely accurate (due to the frame rate of the video), but at least all runs in the leaderboard were checked with a single standard. Time is time, with a minimum error.

@tetraly save states is forbidden for all NES games (like and turbo buttons). This is a single rule and nothing to add here. Just because you can't do this on original cartridge. So save states is forbidden for all categories.

I'm for renaming categories too. Many new speedrunners tend to get confused and don't understand why Any is not Any, although it doesn't matter.. Hirexen has the last word.

Recently we found out that in the Japanese version all dialogues are skipped much faster (almost 4 seconds timesave). If someone beat WR on J version, his run will be in the main category or it will be moved to a separate one? I wouldn't want to grind RNG for years and then go to a separate J leaderboard. Like they want to do in Battletoads with Zitz, because he is faster :)

Maybe other games have incompetent moderators if they accepted your run on a phone emulator. They've always been banned since the beginning of time. Even decent PC emulators have been banned lately, such as RetroArch, Mesen 0.9.9, Mednafen etc. Also fсeux is the most suspicious emulator from the list of allowed.

What I hate the most about this game is waiting for the demo. This is the only reason why I don't want to run cnd1, it takes too much time for every reset. But nevertheless I am against save states, because it's like a turbo, something that never was on the original console. Even if save states will be allowed, my conscience would not allow me to use them, lol. :) I've seen a few people just use rewind, but that's even worse imho.

If the game is no different from the original, I think you can use it. But original rom is preferable, ofc

Magic Jewelry's gameplay resembles that of Columns and Dr. Mario, both of which released earlier in the same year. Sets of 3 or more matching coloured jewels must be lined up horizontally, vertically or diagonally in order to score points, while simultaneously removing said jewels.

I know yeasterday some games was accepted in a few hours, but my first request has not been accepted for 24 days. Is there any difference in the choice of games or was Magic Jewelry just forgotten? It's not urgent for me, just asked out of curiosity. Already 4 runners have done their runs for this game and they are worried. :)

I think in Any% should be only the runs with the unforeseen disappearance of viruses/colors (which shouldn't have disappeared with normal clearing). So your run is glitchless, imo. GG :)

@Sammynorth Yes, because it’s impossible to track. In my pb I used LiveSplit, but many people started out from audio cue. For example, Konatai learned my 0-10 pattern, but visually this is unprovable. In fact, in this game only 0-20 can be considered as indicator of a good skill, since it's impossible to learn and even impossible to choose which pattern is better. In 0-10 everyone can learn some good pattern for WR, it's your choice.

@dmwit sorry, what means "topout" in this game? If "game over", then of course. Any new start of the level in the middle of the run count as manip.

Yep, any reset in the middle of the run count as RNG Manip (even if you just change speed on high levels). Only full game patterns (regularized 0-10 or 0-20 set) is not rng manip.

We separated the categories (with resets / without resets), but now we need any help with sorting all runs, including obsolete (there is 360 runs, it's too many for two people). Thank you 🙂

Both toads should be in the main category, because any% is any%, I am against separation. There's already too many categories with 1-2 runners, zitz% will become the same "meme" category, because of the difficulty of completing the run. In addition, the differences between the two toads are extremely slight. I hope the next WR will be 12:2x with yellow toad and it will be fair.

I think all old runs should remain in leaderboard even without a video (if it's not WR of course). These runners was verified before and have their own time, even without a video there is no reason to delete them. All leaderboards must grow, for the future and competitiveness VoHiYo
