I’m excited to announce the 2025 NSMBW Any% Tournament! For the first time ever, there’s a $100 prize pool up for grabs!

Disclaimer: To ensure fair competition for the prize pool, all participants must use an unmodified physical copy of the game.

I am very excited to announce the 2024 NSMBW Any% Tournament! We will once again be working with SpeedGaming to have our matches restreamed.

Similar to previous tournaments, you will need to be able to stream to twitch in a watchable quality and have a pb submitted on speedrun.com in order to join. It is also highly recommended you create a challonge.com account to be able to self-report your match scores if the staff are unable to.

If we need an extra person or two to fill out the bracket, we may consider allowing Virtual Console for runners who do not have access to a physical copy to join with a time penalty to account for faster loading times.

Signups will close on May 17th at 11:59pm CST.

A brief overview of the requirements/information:

• You need to be able to stream on Twitch

• You need to have an Any% No World 5 pb submitted

• Sign-ups close on April 28th, 2021

• The qualifying mini-round will begin on May 1st, 2021 (if necessary)

• Main tournament starts on May 24th, 2021

• The format of this tournament is a 4 group stage consisting of 4 people per group, followed by a single elimination bracket of the top 2 people from each group.

I did a run of 100% (and by extent any%) but idk what version it's on and since streamlabs didn't actually record the gameplay I only have the audio of it (its uploading rn, I can link it if needed). I was wondering if a 100% category could be made where timing starts on selecting New Game and ends after hitting the flag on the second hidden level. Either that or you do the hidden stages first (timing starts on clicking the first one you do) and ends like any%.

I also need to know what version I'm on, so how do you check that? And if I have too high of a version, can a category/subcategory be made for newer versions?

Hey everyone! Im currently looking for one moderator.

I’ve taken it upon myself to organize an any% Tournament for this game as the community is extremely active currently. Anyone is allowed to participate - the more the merrier! I am going to attempt to have it hosted on SpeedGaming sometime in the summer. If any of you know how the Celeste tournament worked, I’m going to have it work like that. For those of you that don’t know there is an explanation in #announcement in the discord I have created for this tourney (at the end of this post). I would really like to have this be an annual thing that grows as the years go by. I encourage everyone to join because at the end of the day this is to have fun and to bond as a community. A couple days ago specialkid420 suggested a category known as 9-1 any%/cannonless. Basically you have to get all the star coins in w1 then use the w2 cannon to go to w5 and so-on. Then you complete 9-1 after the credits. I used the w1 cannon and he said it was okay so we might need to clarify the rules to see if my run was valid or not. I got a 49:42 for any%

I’d love to see this become an interesting meme category that can hopefully get more competitive sometime.

Oh and obviously for 9-1 cannonless you would get all the coins in w1 and beat the game with the normal cannonless route + doing 9-1.

Max% is physically impossible. The most amount of points that you can get is 99999950 (this might be a digit off not sure not really caring to count) but you can only get 49 points less than max. Therefore it’s impossible. Well, without hacking.

Do I need to have a timer on my video when I submit a video? I can’t use any timer programs cuz I don’t have a computer and phones sucks.

Im new to speed running this game, so what category should I start with. I would try an any% but I suck at world 5.
