If you're talking about the pillar skip at construction I don't see the point for a separate category. I personally hate it but I still do it anyway it's not like a major glitch or anything. If you're good at the standard route it doesn't even lose that much time.

Real time is livesplit time so it's not necessary since this game has a in game time but I don't believe there's a way to remove one.

I have a i7-7770k and GOI uses around 50% when it's running.

I run 1920x1080 144hz.

It probably shouldn't use that much but I don't have any issues unless I'm livestreaming I guess, I can't really keep tabs of chrome open or I'll start to feel it.

I figured I would get around to making a thread about what you can expect to happen If a player is caught cheating. I wanted to make this a sticky thread rather than putting it into the rules since I'd rather keep that for submission and run rules only.

If you are caught cheating you will be suspended from submitting any runs for 60 days. After this period we will allow you to submit runs again however it may take a bit longer to get approved as we will be reviewing it carefully to make sure it is legit. If you are caught cheating a second time then you will be permanently banned from submitting runs anymore.

What will be considered cheating:

1. Using any sort of tool to complete a run (TAS), This includes tools which help modify the game such as adjusting gravity or speed.

2. Splicing a run, taking multiple clips from different runs and putting them together to complete a run.

3. Taking runs from other players and submitting it as your own.

More rules may be added in future if deemed necessary. Glitches will not be considered cheating and these actions won't be taken against you as these can happen accidentally however the run will likely not get verified anyway since both Glitchless and Snake need to be completed without any glitches.

Please try to avoid advertising, If you want to post a stream for when you're playing or something you can do so through the discord. The forums are a place to discuss the game.

imo the best way to get a category added is first of all get a community that is already running that category even without leaderboards and they do it because they enjoy it. Currently I'm running all skip runs because I enjoy it, I know it's extremely niche so not many people do it even though I enjoy it so I haven't bothered mention getting it added. If you decide to not run something because there is no leaderboard for it then that alone shows why it shouldn't be a category. Space % was a good start tbh, There was a small community to it and people enjoyed it but there were clear issues with it. Run a category because you like it, Not just to get it added as a leaderboard. We wouldn't be stubborn to literally everything, If a lot of people started running a specific category which was creative, people enjoyed it and it was in some way a complete run then you've got a pretty good looking category and I'm just gonna say it now it will most likely be hard to get a category like that but if it does exist then that's great for everyone. In case you didn't know Getting Over It didn't have a speedrun.com leaderboard for a while and instead it was just a spreadsheet in the discord for the fastest times.

Edit: This post is made as advice btw, Not to make an argument. I think all skips is great and fun, although definitely hard. If it's something that people are interested in I'll even take the first step and make a spreadsheet of times people get if there are some people interested in it. Just to be clear in All Skips the only thing I deem necessary are chimney skip, Furniture skip and Snowman skip.

I'm not sure if it's possible to make a viable leaderboard for space % It looks fun but is there really any way to 100% prove that you are using the same gravity, I've never used any mods myself outside of the restart mod. What's stopping someone from using a slightly more advantageous gravity % ? That's my only thoughts behind it really, If you could literally guarantee that people were using the same modifier then sure go for it I don't see why it can't be a thing but I don't know enough about it to know if you can guarantee that.

Well as far as we know there isn't really any glitches that would change the outcome of a run, Any% usually is a category that allows you to abuse glitches or out of bound areas etc but that wouldn't really help in getting over it at all and would just be considered a normal speedrun since any% technically should be faster than a normal glitchless run. The only way to really make a run faster is the use of third party mods which would just make any% a mess.

That's pretty cool but doesn't look like it's something that could be done consistently, It would probably also mess up livesplit I don't think that would trigger the end of slide skip, you need to reach the steps in order to trigger it, not that it really matters just thought I'd point that out.

I've never used any mod for this game at all but being able to restart a run without going back to the main menu could be awesome. My game crashes a lot when I quit the game, I have no idea why I've tried reinstalling windows and the game, verifying integrity of the game files and so forth but my game continues to crash, It's crashed over 1000 times (I recently deleted all the crash reports so this isn't an exaggeration). I've been a bit lazy and not emailed them to Bennett Foddy but for someone who resets a lot of runs I personally would love this mod especially if it stopped me from crashing which I'm assuming it should since I only crash when I go back to the main menu. It's always important to prevent any sort of cheating though of course so I don't mind what you guys end up on deciding.

Edit: It would need to be a proper restart of course rather than being able to move straight away, I'm not sure if the restart mod also shows the correct time at the end when you finish as well since I haven't used it. I think it would be important for the end to show the correct time.
