I have a GameBoy Player, and while I have yet to start running this game, it is on my list. Since the GameBoy Player Disc is difficult to obtain, I use Gameboy interface, a homebrew software solution to enable the use of the gameboy player. To my understanding the Speedrunning version of the software is accurate to the actual gba, and even provides reduced input lag compared to the original disc, which does a lot of post processing. Is this software acceptable within the community? Or are there concerns around accuracy that I'm not aware of. The game is still running off the original hardware, so I would think its fine, but I'd like to gauge the community opinion on this
