If anyone finds any massive differences using emulators, especially ones that would make playing on them unfair vs console, let us know here.

The only reason emulators would ever be banned is if they give a clear advantage over playing on console. So to Xenia and RPCS3 players, you are not left out of the fun.

I would like to make a run for the Xbox version, but the two versions need to be separated first as there are too many differences to warrant them being the same.

The PS2 port splits some of the Xbox levels into two parts, which means it actually has more levels. And it doesn't always just split them in a certain spot: there are sometimes entirely new areas added, which are often mandatory for progression. This alone should justify separating them.

In addition, each port has its own reward system for finding all the secrets, which probably makes PS2 the easiest version as you can increase your max ammo, health, and armor far above Xbox/PC. it also has the most secret areas overall, which affects the all secrets category.

The Xbox version has exclusive weapons and enemy types, as well as more enemies in general. While this is usually not an issue, there are a few instances where killing certain enemies is necessary for completion, including two involving an exclusive enemy.

Hopefully my plea is heard this time. Also I really am offering to be a moderator for these versions, I already am for XBLA/PS3 Wolfenstein 3D so I can handle it.

I know this game has no entries, but as someone who plays the Xbox port regularly and has experience with the PS2 port, they should be separated.

For one, PS2 splits some levels into two parts, adding extra loading times Xbox never has to worry about. Plus, sometimes those split levels have entirely different geometry compared to Xbox/PC (which after the Cursed Sands missions are 99% alike). Take the level Escape! for instance. All 3 versions are the same up through killing the scientist. Right after that on PC/Xbox, you'll go up a small flight of stairs leading to the exit of the dungeons. PS2, however, diverts you to an exclusive section the dungeons, which takes up the remainder of part 1, before aligning with PC/Xbox at the dungeon exit for part 2.

Even in levels that aren't split up, there are enough differences to warrant separate listings. We already know about the extra enemies Xbox has, and while they aren't difficult to kill, they still are sources of damage to worry about, and occasionally level progression as well. Unholy Cathedral is a good example. On Xbox, near the end of the level there are two occult priests that must be killed for the level to proceed, which adds around 10 seconds over PC/PS2.

I hope this isn't seen as nitpicking. Over the course of the whole game, these will likely result in the Xbox version being a few minutes faster, and in my experience a difference that large shouldn't be ignored.

Not only do many of the skips/glitches not work on Xbox/PS2, but the game looks and runs worse in general and doesn't support mouse/keyboard. Plus it's more difficult to obtain than the PC version, and requires either an emulator or the actual system it came on. For the Xbox port specifically, it runs worse on a 360 than on an OG Xbox, and I wouldn't be surprised if most people that own the game don't own an OG Xbox anymore.

Well I thought the ghosts counted towards overall episode kill % but I guess they don't.

You did, Aswel didn't know those kills weren't necessary. And just in case you didn't know, eps 3 and 6 are impossible to get 100% kills, and ep 6 is impossible to get 100% secrets.

I'm also doing 100% Death Incarnate, but on the console port because I strangely enjoy that version. And don't worry, they won't be slow placeholder times, they'll be good. Sadly they won't show up on the individual level front page due to website limitations, but they'll be on the specific level's page. I'll be sticking to IL runs until I get either a capture card or a large external HDD, because the Xbox One capture only goes up to 5 minutes with internal storage.

Guards opening doors is intended behavior, so using it to our advantage is an exploit, not a glitch. Hence it's allowed in the glitchless category, and it won't ever suddenly become a glitch either. Any% allows glitches like SSP or dying while a push wall is moving (which causes the wall to de-load upon respawn). I'm not sure what you're considering counter-intuitive here.

As for All Keys... I admittedly know nothing beyond getting all keys. I'd imagine glitches are allowed unless otherwise specified, as SSP can still work with All Keys runs. In fact there are probably different SSP setups we can use in AK runs as opposed to Any% depending on the level.

As for why no one has run that, it's because SSP is still relatively new and people just haven't gotten around to it yet. I'm sure you could tell, this isn't exactly the most active game.

Well I'll be honest, I just don't enjoy trying to arbitrarily create a different flavor. Each category already feels different when watching; Mistakes in IL runs are minimal, whereas full runs are much more suspenseful and feature generally less precise play overall. I like being able to use whatever weaponry would be available as if I had played through to that level normally, it allows for the fastest possible times on those levels.

There's also the question of someone beating an IL time during a full game run. Hard to say doing it in one shot is less impressive or legitimate than making multiple resets, even if the person started with a chain gun and more than 8 ammo.

We would have to make an exception for the PS3/360 version as you can't warp to individual levels in that version.

Yeah, I'm wondering if those scores were hacked in, because in addition to none of the top 3 people having individual level times, their scores are all so high they seem basically impossible to achieve. From what I can tell you have to use Episode 6 on Can I Play Daddy, as it has massive par times. I tried I am Death Incarnate first but it seems that the speed you can complete the levels on CIPD outweighs the points for the extra enemies on IADI, except for maybe level 8.

For overall score, I'm currently sitting at 2nd on the Activision port, and 5th on the Bethesda one. The top 3 times on the Bethesda port are suspicious though, as none of the people are at the top of any individual level. Whoever has the gamertags "KTILLA23" and "Scamazon Prime" though, are really good at the game.

In the Bethesda port, which is the one I usually play on due to more competitive times, I have top scores on E1M8, E2M3, E6M2, and E6M4, and tied for first in E6M5. Also, I asked Alex0023 on one of his YouTube uploads how he got his time for E6M6, but he couldn't remember. That is the one level I can't figure out. I also haven't cared to go for score in most of episodes 3, 4, or 5 but I'll get to those at some point.

One interesting thing I noticed is that a few people have times on E6M1 that are lower than the 2:57 Shinboy got last year, which indicates they know about the door trick (including Alex0023). I figured people here would have utilized it for ECWolf/DOS runs long ago, but at least we know now.
