United StatesI've been getting back into speedrunning and I set up a new layout and tried the sound effects add-on to play a song when I PB (about 3 mins), but its not working when i test it. It works when I use a 5 second sound effect but not for this one song, and the song plays fine in my player. Any help?
With some help I've figured out the minimum amount of captures to get all 80 Moons is 14 captures
- 1 for goomba stack moon in Sand Kingdom
- 1 to capture a bullet bill to break the cage in Sand Kingdom
- 3 to capture the hand 3 times to defeat the Sand Kingdom Boss
- 1 to capture the tank in Wooded Kingdom to shoot the targets
- 3 to capture 3 thwomps to kill bowser in Bowsers Kingdom
- 1 for goomba stack moon in DARK Sand Kingdom
- 3 to capture the hand 3 times to defeat the DARK Sand Kingdom Boss
- 1 to capture the tank in DARK Wooded Kingdom to shoot the targets Scarecrows DO NOT count as captures cause you don't transform into them.
With all this said, is it possible to create a minimum captures category where you get all 80 moons in only 14 captures?
Sadly I don't think so. Citra emulator doesn't have the same framerate as the 3DS and New 3DS, making the final time inaccurate

Found this seed while trying to improve the 70 star nonstop wr. It has good seed potential, cause I got 10 stars in about 5 minutes, and it takes you to really good stages rather quickly.

i am wanting to speedrun 80 star, and heard 1.0 is the fastest version. can anyone provide me where i can download the 1.0 rom?
Okay, can I use programs like kit-kat and homebrew and all that to record my speedruns or do those have inaccurate framerate?
Let's say I'm an expert at coding (I'm not) and want to make an 3DS emulator for speedrunning, what things would have to be in the EMU in order for mods for other 3DS games to think it can be used for speedrunning (like accurate framerate, option to install cheats for selected game, etc)
We know about this, It's actually easier if you do a triple jump instead of a long jump.
I know that hard reset is Ctrl + R, But I can't figure out how to soft reset. People told me to hold A B Start Select, but it's not working. Can anybody help?
I see no reason to remove them both from SM64 Online. They are a really good part of the SM64 ROM hack community and I appreciate their work.

Another Category Idea: 1st Place
It's pretty much "Get 1st place as fast as possible, timing stops when you see that crown above your character"
This category can be done in all modes too. I mean, why did you add "3 kills" as a category anyway? Wouldn't make sense to not add this idea as a category :P
Maybe we should separate Party Mode and Classic Mode. It's not really fair for the top players to have a sub 1 because they are in party mode.
umm... you can just catch a water pokemon that can learn surf (gyrados, vaporeon, etc).
8 Star is pretty much the same as 9 star. The mods won't accept it as an category
ehhh.. that depends if your using a save file that has the cap switches pressed. If you're doing stage rta for the cap switch places, you may have to press the switch and grab the star. But we haven't determined yet.
There could be also an option for muting the leaderboard song too. incase it drizes you crazy
I have an idea for the leaderboards. Instead of listening to nothing while looking, we listen to something (a song) while looking. I would like to hear your opinions on this.
