I was wondering if it is legal to pause speedruns and continue them in a later date. For example in the prior world record on the all advancements category, GotApple played his speedrun in like 5 different sections pausing the timer and starting again the next day. Is this Legal.

I am pretty sure that for runs such as the All Advancements category, that you get to have some breaks. I don't think this is allowed for any% because the runs last a max of an hour.

You can, as UnSync said, play All Advancement Speedruns in different sections, but other speedruns have to be done in one sitting. But of course, you can press Esc (Dont close you world!) and take a break if you dont stop recording. Then your real time will be very bad, but the time the break takes will be subtracted in your ingame time. And most of the categories are ranked by ingame time.^^
