I want to run both Gun Range categories in the future and I want to ask - is it easier to get good times with older version of the game? Does it change weapon behavior in some way?

It's easier in that you will fail less because of random things like your 57 shots going wild Most notable changes are that the AK recoil is different and the 57 spread while running is much better. There's also a glitch that lets you shoot with perfect accuracy while falling which you can use but don't have to. and the game / movement feels lighter but that might be subjective
