I hate them too. Always on the return trip.
But saying that - there is no RNG. If you move the exact same way they act the exact same way.
The reason I bought this game was that I wanted to try ET-style manipulations, but somebody already did it. :)
They move in a relatively similar pattern every time in Game 1. Game 2 seems different thanks to the stupid bat which keeps dropping dragons on me. My favorite was when the bat flew by with a dragon, the dragon ate me, and we flew off to other rooms.
Starting soon after new years, all runs will be retimed. Many runs from the past have been timed incorrectly leading to a lot of leaderboard inaccuracies, even at the top level.
