The timer stops way later when it's enabled in game. I'm not sure if this is known, but I wanted to make sure anyway.

yeah thats why for solo level runs in game timer is a rule

It actually makes it annoying for displaying your in game record because if you accidently play without the in game timer, it completely inflates your time and doesn't display when its a new record
