Agreed, unless it comes down to two records of the same time and one is the Japanese copy, then we might have to think about something; but as it stands nobody using the Japanese copy has claimed a record within 15 seconds of a previous one. Not in top 10s, anyway.

I've been using this, I've gotta say it's very reliable, though I've noticed from my own mistakes it's still possible without using all the pistol shots you did and also without using the chainsaw swipes, I've done it just thrusting, mine have been mistakes though toneach their own!

But the key I feel like is the ducking his hit then the crouching thrust, that's what's made it reliable for me, so great job again!

If anything Ethan must die is probably the easiest one to set up for running, there's no real NG+ except statues and there's a readable final IGT so I'm all for it.

I was actually going to make a similar thread myself however I was going to propose one simple category to make it runnable.

Various bonuses will have to be cut, I recommend things like no speed power ups, no time bonus power ups, no golden crowbar or golden blaster. No shooting the bobbleheads

IGT at the end is read, but since all speed boosts and bonus times have been stopped just use the final IGT regardless of time bonuses acquired.

It sounds like a lot of rules and shit but let me tell you with bobbleheads the golden crowbar, blaster and a shit ton of bonuses I finished the longest challenge main house 2 with like 21 minutes bonus time and only 3 seconds off the normal clock.

If one category is going to come down to 3 seconds of actual running round a corner where time can change it's pointless having said category

Whenever you die, a statue will spawn on that exact spot, and the next time you try it will leave behind one item from your inventory from when you died; so if you empty your inventory except for one thing then die it will drop there. It resets every time you die so only one statue will be in the map but its a bonus ontop of starting from the beginning.

He picked it up from the statue. The statue is from a previous try, he had picked up 20 enhanced ammo on a previous try, died in the main hall, and left it there to pick up when he retried.

What im saying is is that picking up items from boxes is fine, keep retrying until you get perfect items and perfect placements, but if it's going to be a category unless it's split you can't allow people to pick up stuff from a death. It's essentially NG+, which is why I think you should either split them, or just have a no-death influenced category.

First off that 6 minute I wouldn't count because he influenced prior runs to allow him to pickup like 20 enhanced handgun ammo. If it's going to be on the boards it's going to be regulated and have rules. Aka, no pickups, you die you full retry, or there will need to be two categories, one "Retry+" AKA, you can set it up beforehand and B, no retries.

Im not sure why a few of the DLCs haven't been added to the boards, but theres a lot to be hashed out with a fair few of them.

I'm testing it more today, hopefully I can find something consistent. It seems like every time I find a good way to do it things suddenly change and she will swing around me with the chainsaw, she's just so unpredictable

8 mods fair enough Succint, I've been on break recently so I've been busy approving runs but over the weekend and this week I've been working from 10-8:30, I come home, I eat, I sleep and I repeat. Runs are an hour and a half to two and a half hours long on average, sure some don't need to be watched entirely but some of them still take a damn long time to check, like knife only and 100% runs.

If it wasn't Liv recently going hard on run approval there would be like 70 runs waiting to be approved; RE7 is now on the front page for runner numbers, it's not as easy to manage as you think, but we do our best.

Back on topic, I've just got the DLC and tried some of it, I definitely think jacks 55th birthday and bedroom are runnable, but bedroom only with an out of game timer; daughters I think is still just way too linear with barely any time for differences unless we're going to start millisecond RTA timers that we can double check

I'd like to hear most of the mods personal feelings on it all because I'd like to run some of these too

Agreed, most of my runs ended at jack 2, I even saved like 20 seconds before I got to him but didn't get one cycle and there the time was gone. I'm still working on more reliable Mia strats doesn't seem to matter where I position my two hits are so unreliable. I'm sure there's something more to do with hit timing and angle over where you stand since I've gotten two hits from doing it from the front.

But the aiming inside of him is definitely more reliable!

Actually I second that request for my 100%, I also have a strange request but can a split be done for acquiring the fixed double barrel? And not to be cheeky but also one for the magnum if at all possible, thanks cursed.

(I'd like to have a split for my NG runs from the time I grab the final dog head to getting outside and fixing the shotgun) (if it can't be done for fixing the shotgun, an easy route around it would be a split for picking up the repair kit)

It's not about people being lazy with retimes; it's that we have to make sure they didn't time it wrong or edit the timer in any way, same as where we have to watch people's runs to make sure they followed rules, didn't cheat and put in the correct IGT. People are sneaky, and unreliable

This is a lot more reliable than mine I'll have to learn this one; it sort of removes that awkward trying to position him. I'm curious does the aiming upward have an effect on him? Like getting inside of Mia? Or is it just for hit reliability

I think there's a lot of ifs and buts to be had with all the different DLCs, but some of them are definitely viable

That would technically be a regional difference as opposed to language, we'd have to class it separately since it would open up new records 20 seconds or so faster, which literally wouldn't be achievable on other copies.

But yeah I did the tests when Stirling was curious and no language is faster. There's no documents to read unlike RE3, and the phone calls are fixed duration

I'm not sure when you're thinking of doing it, but I'd be up for it, I can do NG easy (1st) or NG+ which I did like two runs for before but I can practice it if it's what you'd prefer. I'd even learn new categories which, well I'm currently doing anyway mainly for madhouse.

My only issue is at the moment I can't stream very smoothly at all or in any good quality. In the next month I'm aiming to get a capture card and use my other laptop so I can steam and eventually build a new or anyway so depends when you want to do it, but I'm in

I'm pretty sure it's not possible on console due to the way the PC Engine functions, I could be wrong though

Splits can be inconsistent; the thing I thought with these DLCs is that something like daughters there is nothing really to well, do differently, it's an extremely linear path that'll come down to milliseconds like the demo; I personally would only put the jack eating levels since they're timed and maybe the room escape with Clancy but then again I'm not sure if the room has an IGT.
