SupporterThis is a thread for miscellaneous glitches, tricks, discoveries or ideas that anyone stumbles across that we might be able to work with for the sake of speedrunning. Whether or not these are RTA viable is not really the point, I just think having a spot to dump ideas would be good.
Announcer Speed: The announcer says the characters names at different rates. Of the 4 capable of doing the backwards throw strat, Boba is 15 frames faster per fight than Han, 19 frames faster per fight than Jodo Kast, and 17 frames faster per fight than the Stormtrooper. Boba Fett is the fastest character across the board, saving between 2 and 3 seconds over the other characters over the course of an Arcade Mode run, more in Survival.
Taunt-skip: The taunts when you defeat an opponent are a flat 2.5 seconds across all characters. If you fall off the ring after your opponent has already been declared dead by ringout, you skip the taunt animation. You can force yourself to keep moving after the announcer has started talking by performing a long combo. This doesn't seem useful as a main strat because the regular strat of throwing the opponent over the edge when they behave well is still faster, but it seems like a good back-up strat if the enemy AI does not behave and does not come directly to the edge for the easy Ringout, you can do this to make-up some of the timeloss. This video also shows a weird thing that happened where Thok flies back towards the ring, but falls through the floor and dies by ringout.
Instant Ringout: I have no idea what caused this, its a total mystery to me. I have yet to be able to replicate it, I will update the thread if I ever figure it out.
I wanted to add my voice to this because I feel strongly that the word limit on guides was a very bad decision. Longer written guides now have to be broken up into multiple segments if they are to remain on SRC, which I do not think is very appealing considering this site is often where people look first when looking into running games. This is really just a lot less appealing. Please reverse this.

Hey guys, I've posted a new guide here on SRC with a video I made outlining the speedrun strategy for Inferno and details on all of the things that can go wrong in that level, which as it turns out there are plenty of. This level has some serious problems for runs, like run-killing bugs, softlocks, and easy-to-fail strats if you don't know what you're doing. So I hope this guide can help anybody looking to run Resurrection get through their runs!

Hey guys! I just wanted to announce that I have made and posted a language comparison video for the Obi-Wan game in the Guides section here on SRC. I am pleased to say that we were correct about Italian being the fastest language for the game, and I am very impressed that we were able to tell just by estimating it!
This video proves with certainty that Italian is the fastest language for both Any% and All Levels Obi-Wan, and I do believe it is safe to assume that this is probably the case with the Anakin game as well, however I plan to do this same work again with the Anakin game to confirm that Italian is the fastest for All Levels Anakin as well.

Note that this is no longer the case, what was called "Any% Anakin" when this forum post was made is now just "Any%" and "All Levels - Anakin" exists to encompass the majority of the Anakin game. I locked the thread since it could create some confusion.
I wanted to comment on this old thread because some old questions that I asked here years ago have now had a precedent set after RockinRobbo submitted his full Princess Leia run today. These questions weren't really answered before as the only full-game runs were Basic Training, and the questions did not apply to that campaign.
In terms of bonus missions, the precedent that has been set is that bonus missions are included in full-game runs, which I agree with personally. The other question in this forum, what difficulty should full-game runs be done on, is also now answered for the time being. Robbos run was performed on Moderate difficulty, but if anybody wants to do a full-game run on a separate difficulty, let us know and maybe we can add sub-categories to the full-game board for difficulty. Otherwise, full-game runs can be done on Moderate.
I am going to add both of these things to the rules if there are no objections from anyone. We were basically just waiting for someone to actually do it so that a precedent is set for future runs.
All Basic Training runs have been moved to Easy and the rules have been amended :)

I noticed today that the game identifies Basic Training as being on the Easy difficulty. If you have the game set to show the timer, speed, and difficulty in the top left corner, the game says it is on Easy difficulty during the Basic Training missions. Previously, we have all submitted Basic Training runs to Moderate because no difficulty can be selected.
I'm sure some people have noticed this already, but either way, if everyone is OK with it, I can move all of the runs that have been submitted for Basic Training to the Easy subcategory and also add something to the rules that says that all Basic Training missions are done on Easy.
Does anybody have any objections to this?

Im considering running this game but tbh I think this should just get answered either way. The game is available on PS4 and XBox One in "The Ezio Collection" along with Brotherhood and Revelations. To my knowledge there are no advantages to playing on PS4 and Xbox One. If this is ok, they should be added to the list of available consoles so we can submit runs for those consoles.

Or did you mean more like each mission getting it's own board in a level leaderboard section? Cause that would probably make more sense.
By that do you mean like, a run that entails all 5 missions of each character?
Starts on selection of the first mission, ends on completetion of mission 5? Sounds fun. It would have to be a level leaderboard id imagine.
Oh one more question: For campaigns that have bonus missions, does full game only mean the main missions or does it require the bonus missions too? For example, would Darth Vader's full game run be missions 1-5 or missions 1-7? Or OOM-9, would his be missions 1-6 or 1-7?
