It's a bit childish and unprofessional to call a black and white level "Racist World", for example. Changing the levels to be all numbered.
Now that multiple standards for VR exist, should there be markers on this site for them as "platforms"? Obviously, PSVR, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and any other add-on VR systems aren't consoles of their own, but it could help section off VR games to be found more easily.
It could be a misc. category, haha
But honestly, this is the kinda dev skip stuff that it feels so nice to see in the wild.
When you do the part in the boss's office (whether doing Skip or No Skip), you usually have to open the drawer to get the key for the cabinet, so you can open it and hit the boss with the knob.
Not anymore! I've found that you can jump right through the side of the cabinet, and grab the knob from the inside. As long as you position yourself so that you can turn around and hit the boss without moving, you can skip the key entirely, hence the "Boss Key Skip".
This run showcases this skip:
Lucky_Hamburger, the autosplitter is configured in the "layout" for Livesplit. You have to download the resources from the Resources page, and then when you open the splits, open the included layout, as well. Then, go to "Edit Layout" and change the file path for the Autosplitter to where it's located on your computer. After that, you should be able to use it for No Skip just fine.
I wish that doing the fish/boss route was optimal, so we could call it a "Boss Key Skip"
Timer does not start when unchecking "Run No Skip Category". It does start when you check that box, but I don't want to run No Skip, so it's a bit of an issue, haha
I did get an open door early one time, as well - I would imagine this shouldn't count as a faster run, though, given that one: the autosplitter would break, and two: it isn't the designated skip for the category. Is kinda cool how broken it is, though.
Alright, this sounds good. I don't know when I can do another run, but when I can, I'll do some skip runs (trying to do both skips, mine and PsychoWren's) with the fixed autosplitter.
I couldn't get to the bench fade-out before the fish fade-out, making this skip impossible. I combined the fish and the boss's office together in mine, and got a 2:23. Is there any trick to making this skip work? (It could be due to framerates, perhaps?)
I agree with PsychoWren, but I don't see why the autosplitter should be mandatory. I don't want to sound entitled (and if I do, I apologize), but there isn't any reason that submitting a run should be limited by your scheduling of development time. If the game were to receive an update (unlikely, but still), or another skip was found, the runs would be invalid again. I timed my run manually, based on the start and stop points that the autosplitter uses: starting as the computer fades in, stopping when the mouse cursor shows after the credits. Could you make a skip and no-skip category, and at least for now, not require the autosplitter?
I tried to fix a type in my run's description, and it got unverified again. It's the same run, just the word "girl" is spelled correctly. Sorry =(
Never mind, found out how. Been using it for my runs =)
I have Livesplit, but I've never used one before. How do I set it up?
This is for the VR version of this game. This is NOT the same as the regular PC and Xbox One version, for that, go to http://speedrun.com/SUPERHOT .

If you ARE running the Oculus Rift/Touch game, this is the place for you! User Bean is the moderator who owns this game and the equipment, so any run-related or Oculus-related questions can go to them!
This is a discussion thread, any questions about the moderation of the page or the future of this game's speedrunning community can go here =)
Update: As a series moderator, I can just /add/ games? I made a page for SUPERHOT VR, and yo can view it from the series page now. Feel free to submit your run, though I also made you a moderator =)
@Bean probably? If you got accepted and it /wasn't/ part of the series, you'd have to apply for a series change (I think?)
Hey, I've been made a moderator of the series, so if you'd like to start a page for SHVR, go ahead! Put it down as a member of the SUPERHOT series, and I won't even be a moderator of the game specifically (since I don't own it, and have no immediate plans to get a VR setup)
I know you said you current run might not be on the boards for the game, but it's probably best to just use it to make a page, then delete the run after the game already exists and you can do a more regulated run.
