Weird, I don't have that problem.

When you open blobwall.exe and go to input you gotta double click on either the primary or secondary button and change it there. For example if you double click the button that says right, you can change it to spacebar.

I start the timing on the first frame of respawn and end the exact frame the text appears on screen when you die. I just plop it in my editing software to time it.

Speedrun.com can't do that unfortunately. It's not really designed with high scores in mind.
