the rules do mention this! in glitchless & glitches, it says so under rule 2 of the category rules: "You are not allowed to use any items to give yourself any kind of advantage. It's recommended that you disable any items that you have in the Tools menu to avoid accidentally equipping an item in your run."

coil category also specifies in the category rules that no other items aside from the two bootleg coils are allowed. the way speedrun.com displays leaderboard rules is a lot more confusing than it should be, i think

paid items are not allowed in the event items category
