This is not a bad idea...
I've set up this leaderboard to follow categories of other Picross S games. It should be more coherent to have this category in every Picross S leaderboards, but I do not have permissions to do that for Picross S1 to S4...
If you can achieve an "All Levels" run, I will add this category at least for this game, and talk to others mods to do the same on their leaderboards.
@EvaWally Mega Picross puzzles are the same as Picross puzzles, but in a different order. If you want to submit a Mega Picross run, please submit it in the corresponding (classic) Picross category!
@YUMmy_Bacon5 Thanks for the answer! I know it's not the best idea, but I use cURL to send exactly the same requests as my web browser when I manually add a level. I've tested yesterday for 1-2 levels, and it works, so I've finalized the script yesterday evening, replacing level creation by writing a line in a file, in order to verify if all is good. I think I'll put a sleep(1)
before every request to avoid being rate limited ;)
@ShikenNuggets Some people planned to run every level for Picross S9 (they have already done in S7 and S8) and I don't want to prevent them submitting a run because the level isn't created. Picross S9 has 335 levels, and Picross S+ 1,955 ones (it's a Nintendo Switch remake of all Picross e (1 to 9) games, originally released on Nintendo DS/3DS).
Good evening,
I am a mod of some Picross S games.
In these games, levels names are basically "P001", "P002" ... "P150".
Am I allowed to use a PHP script to automatically submit requests to the SR.C API to create all necessary levels?
If yes, what is the rate limit to avoid being timed out/banned from the API?
Thanks in advance,
MarioSwitch
Hello,
Since the beginning, there are very few people speedrunning this game, but feel free to speedrun it as it's your childhood game! (and set a WR maybe?)
I check the site every day, so, don't worry, your runs will be verified quickly!
For me, it was a bit tricky as, on the vanilla version, you have only 3 saves and my 3 first saves were already taken. So, I had to move a save to do my run.
You can play without Internet connection to avoid these ads!
Either version is fine. I think I'll add a variable to know if runs has been done on V1 or V2.
You have to select a level before "Submit Run" and "View Rules" buttons and full leaderboard appears.
It would be nice if you can send me levels' titles, but don't worry if you don't have time.
It's normal as I don't have created all levels yet. I'll create all Picross levels today and try to add Clip Picross and Extra later this week.
When you enter a game, click on a level you want to submit, and then, the leaderboard and a button "Submit Run" on top-right will appears.
You'll have to complete a form and click "Submit" when you have finished. It's recommended to upload your records on YouTube (or any other site to upload videos) before submitting your run, as you'll be asked to give a link to this video.
When you click on a level, you have a "Show Rules" button at the top-right of the leaderboard. The popup is sometimes split in 2 sections: "Game Rules" which applies to all categories and "Category Rules" which applies only to the selected category.
Select the game and click on the level you want to speedrun, and click the "Submit Run". Complete the form and click "Submit" once finished.
Be sure to check game rules before submitting. For example, all Picross S series games require at least a screenshot or a 30-second video from the Nintendo Switch to verify runs.
I hope this is clear and good luck for your runs!
Video proof is easy to record as the Nintendo Switch can record a 30-second-video if you keep pressing the screenshot button. Moreover, a simple screenshot can't identify which circuit is runned. So, screenshots are prohibited.
Because puzzles are the same as in Picross mode but in a different order
What do you mean by "either easy or hard way"? I've not completed the game, so it's maybe a post-game option. Categories by worlds have been set in "Level Leaderboard".
Done.
It's an unofficial app, and it lacks features, but yes, it's an alternative.
Navigating the site while on a phone is a real challenge. We see that the site is not made to be displayed on a cell phone. Would it be possible to create an app to have better accessibility on mobile?
I know it's a very difficult and long task, but the mobile experience is very bad.
I thank the Elo Staff for the work they do to improve the site. You're the best!
