Yoyo. I've heard a bunch of streamers and people in general discuss this in dotted-about places, so I feel as though we should have a centralised discussion about whether we should order the leaderboards based on IGT or RTA.

My opinion is that IGT should be the timing method to order the leaderboards - I feel as though while IGT is accurate and consistent, it's a more fair, equal way of judging a player's time as opposed to RTA. Below I'll try and address my points of view to opposing questions that I'm sure you'll have.

  1. What about console runners? Should they be split?

A) Console/PC should not be split categories on the leaderboards in my opinion because there's not enough difference in gameplay between the versions to warrant it. Whilst it may be argued that console runs will now become 'more obsolete', the truth is that they're already incomparable with times on PC, so organising by IGT doesn't change this.

  1. What about those on the leaderboards who have submitted without loadless times?

A) That's an issue that would be slowly ironed out over time. I ¤think¤ we're at a point where all RTA WRs have a loadless time, so it's not as if there are any incredibly strong runs on the boards that can't be beaten if the runner wants their run to be comparable again. As more runners submit with IGT, this slowly becomes less of an issue.

Was going to address more questions here but I'm having a mind-blank. I'm sure there'll be some open discussion here, so I'm interested to see what people think about this.

This is the worst leaderboard on the entirety of speedrun.com

Probably best that I ask this question in a new thread.

Is there a community discord I could join so I can interact and ask you guys questions more easily? Thanks.

Hi guys.

I want to run this game, but at the moment I'm struggling to justify spending £20 on a game. I will do at some point regardless of the responses, but I'm interested to know what your guys' attitudes are in terms of iso loading; is it allowed for runs? Does it make a difference?

Thanks.

Hi guys.

I've considered running this game for a while now, and my knowledge of the speedrun (and even the game) is incredibly limited, so apologies in advance for that.

I can play GCN games on PAL/NTSC/NTSC-J, and I was wondering which version is the best for me to run? I'll happily pay an extra bit to be running on the best version.

Thanks in advance, if I have any more questions I'll post them in this thread.

Hey - I was wondering if anyone had considered giving users the option to customise their own 1st-3rd place icons, similarly to what is possible in games. I feel as though looking down a person's srcom page could look better if all of their icons were the same. Obviously, this wouldn't affect that game's leaderboard, but would add more customisation for individual users.

Thanks, Len.

Hi. I recently submitted a game to srcom called 'Multiple Crash Bandicoot Games', and my run was rejected due to the fact that I haven't ran that category.

I can completely understand your reasons behind this, and now there is a valid documented run for me to submit. However, it's by somebody else.

Said person isn't keen on moderating the leaderboards, and I'm an experienced member of the Crash community who'll be able to moderate these leaderboards competently. What should also be said is that I will be running a category for these leaderboards as soon as I possibly can. I was wondering if, by any chance, this decision could be revisited on these grounds?

Thanks.

I've been on multiple different games and this just popped into my mind. I'm not sure about how people feel about this, but I feel as though as I look down my speedrun.com page, my 3rd, 2nd and 1st (which I don't have many of :'(((( ) look quite out of place and a bit disorganised. This is extremely nit picky, but I feel as though adding a customisation ability for the user to change their personal 3rd, 2nd and 1st place icons would make a better looking interface. Of course, when you're looking down a game's feed, the first second and third place would be their own personal icons (for instance SMS' gold, silver and bronze shines), but on your own feed you could make it so that they're all the same and custom to you.

Also, I was wondering whether anyone has thought about adding a feature where we could look at TASes on a game's page for those that have one - potentially a little section of the page showing the best known TAS. In my opinion this would be quite destructive to have it at the top of the page as this may confuse newbies to the site, but maybe a section at the bottom of the page or on the side showing TASes for the few games lucky enough to have them would be cool.

Thoughts?

Hey - I donated to the site, it was 1 euro 69 (not much but I only had £1.25 in my account). Was wondering how I could go about getting my gradient name? Thanks.

Hey guys.

I've been using this site for a while, and I love how it keeps track of every run I do, but one thing I've grown to not like that much is the fact that people who visit your page have to click "show misc categories" for you to see them. This kind of makes me reluctant to do these categories (don't ask why, I'm obsessed with organisation), and I was wondering whether you'd ever consider implementing a choice for a person to show misc categories by default on their page.

Obviously, for the games themselves, misc categories could stay under the "show misc categories" tab - I just feel like having a choice to show them by default wouldn't go a miss. Maybe with the misc category, you could put some marker on the page if it's shown by default denoting that it's a misc category. I know I'm being obscenely picky, but as someone who loves to have control over their runs and loves to track everything, I feel for someone like me, this implementation would be great.

Thanks guys.

Hey, I'm not sure where I should be posting this, but I was wondering whether you've ever considered a feature where you can order your games on your speedrun.com page? For instance, on mine, if I could go in an order such as: Crash 2, Crash 3, Crash TWoC, SMB1, SMB2, SMBDX, SMBJR or if I could order by time order or placing order. Not a necessity, but you can't go wrong with customisation!
