Hello, I'm CriticaL and have you ever wanted to speedrun a DS game series developed by 5th Cell and published by THQ? I know I have!

If you want a new game to speedrun Drawn to Life is a pretty fun series to run (though not the fastest maybe you can make help make it faster!) I am here to answer any questions you may have about the series and speedrunning the games in it!

Q: When you refer to "Main Series" what do you mean? A: Drawn to Life and Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter for DS are the main series titles as they are the only ones actually developed by 5th Cell. We see the Wii version and Spongebob game as more of a spinoff.

Q: Why is the first game not being ran often? A: We are currently working on routing the any% run, as well as I have been constantly trying to find skips or just some way to lose a LOT of time because it is a long run.

Q: What is the fastest game in the series currently? A: Drawn to Life: Spongebob Squarepants Edition is currently the fastest.

Q: Why does no one run the Wii version of TNC? A: It's some what boring, and because of that it's a little intimidating to get in to and try to make a more fun run out of.

Q: Are emulated runs allowed? A: Yes, the emulator we allow is DeSmuME because it is clear that most people can't speedrun this game on console easily due to recording and streaming incapabilities without a DS capture or similar thing.

If you have any other questions you want to ask you can join the discord and ask there! I'll update this post as time goes on.

I am genuinely trying to get this series more active and hope people can find interest in it!

I just thought I'd share what I found because I didn't see any other threads mentioning the fact that using an animated GIF works as a custom icon.

I was wondering what everyone would think of having runs that instead of just one level or the whole game, having individual world runs. Like for example a World 1 Any% run, or World 3 100%, etc. As well as what would the rules be for said run. I'm just trying to bring ideas to the table, I'm not exactly sure the ups and downs to this other than the amount of time it takes compared to one or the other. Discuss? OneHand

Edit: It's already a thing now, so I am locking the thread.

I'm CriticaL, I play a lot of video games and such. I am new to the act of speedrunning in doing but not watching, and I plan on running a bunch of games once I have the time. I plan on trying to do a bit of Drawn to Life speedrunning as well as Kingdom Hearts and Devil May Cry. Hope to make a bunch of friends in this community, have a good one.

Edit: two things I forgot to add,

1: I dunno how I even managed to snag the tag CriticaL but I am happy I did.

2: Drawn to Life needs more runners so if anyone is interested in that game feel free to join in that fun, the wr is a blind run currently.
