Please make sure your audio is recording next time. Good job on the run! :)
If you're interested in making a board for it, go ahead. The page for requesting a new game can be found here. I'm not sure how the process works today but back when I made this board all I needed was video proof of a run of the game and a basic description.
Also, it looks like its a ROM hack of Mario Kart 64 - I think if you wanted it added as a rom hack to their board you'll have to get in contact with their mods but I'm not exactly sure how that process works.
Good luck!
What you did in your run was fine. You didn't built up speed via respawns, no road bumps occurred, and you didn't skip an entire lap. Sorry for the delay in verifying your run.
I personally use OBS Studio to record all of my PC runs. You can download it here https://obsproject.com/download . There are quite a few tutorials on Youtube that explain how to set up & use the program - lots of them are specific to speedrunning too, which should be helpful. OBS Studio has the added benefit of giving the user the ability to livestream their gameplay onto Twitch, too. Good luck!
Hell yeah.
Just as an update, I have redefined what a "skip" is as well - read above. I remember rejecting a run that broke the old ruleset but does not break the current one. I cannot remember the runner's name and the run does not show up on my rejected runs list, so this is essentially my only way of reaching out. If you see this whoever you are, please contact me (Discord, Twitter, Twitch, Youtube, even this post) so I can put your run back on the leaderboards.
Full game categories (beating both tracks in one sitting) have been added to the leaderboards. Note that the amount of time to re-open the game to beat the second track should not be included in submitted runs. Please remove the loading time before you submit, otherwise it will take longer to verify. Also, to clarify: after opening the game again, the viewing of the Unity logo as well as the title screen WILL BE INCLUDED in the timing. This means that running two instances of the game at the same time to speed up the switching process will not be allowed.
Skips have been redefined to get around the weirdness of Dessert Rumble. A skip is now defined as when the player either skips laps, skips a section of track after building up speed via respawns, or skipping a section of track by using those road bumps that happen randomly throughout the run.
I have also changed the names of every category because I felt like it.
Suggestion: Make it so the "View Rules" and any other drop-down window like that can be customized via the leaderboard's "Edit Theme" section, allowing mods to change the font color, window background, and header background (color and/or graphical). This would allow those windows to look less out of place.
Bug: Lots of tabs don't align properly http://imgur.com/vxpxiIy (via http://www.speedrun.com/Astronot/Collectibles )
Uploaded a much more compressed version that is also in much better quality! http://www.mediafire.com/view/cb66wfoznz1afcz/astronot_worldmap.gif#
Here is the world map. This should help with routing categories http://www.mediafire.com/view/cb66wfoznz1afcz/astronot_worldmap.gif# (download for full quality, or set the zoom to "Original")
Please note that hidden paths that can be uncovered using the X-Ray Powerup are not shown, so make sure to either memorize them or pay more attention to how the map is constructed.
