We've replied, we've given adequate reasons for rejecting your runs and how to improve them. Sound isn't required, but choppy looking recordings without sound are easy as hell to splice, this combined with the fact that you have no timer and don't stream, and also have no history as a speedrunner, come together to make a very suspicious run. Your most recent submission was exactly the same run as the last, but with a few seconds of footage before and after the run. It was still a choppy recording, there was still no sound, and thus it once again got rejected.
Also, considering it is exactly the same run, how did you manage to time it to be 2 seconds faster than the previous recording?
Great question, I actually wasn't aware of a WiiU VC version. In fact, I can't seem to find anyone who knows anything about it. Can you give us some info? Does the game have any significant changes/ new features, or are there hardware based features that could provide an advantage over the GBA version? (By hardware based features, I'm thinking of stuff like the 3DS's VC savestate function. It would be easy enough to ban for instance, but we'd like to know about it beforehand). If there's no real issues/advantages to the VC version we'll be fine adding that to the leaderboards (so you can select WiiU VC rather than GBA/GBP/GBI). Sorry to bombard you with questions like this, but this is a niche speedgame, to the point that the leaderboard mods weren't aware of a version that released over 2 years ago. Edit: If you're able to record a run/some footage of the game, that would be easiest, especially if you're as unsure on this as I am. I can give it a look over, to try and spot anything different.
Ahh okay, wasn't aware that you didn't have to press anything for it to roll to the credits~
It is a little odd that the timing of the run ends before the last input of the run.
Well yeah, i get what it is. Im just drawing attention to it in case a mod hasnt seen it yet.
Just noticed that the any% leaderboard has 2 runs by skater (his first place one and a 18:50 one not accredited to his account). Thought I'd mention it in case no one else has seen it.
Can I suggest that, if you haven't gotten the retimings done/up yet that you're juggling a bit too much moderation wise? I'll happily time them all tonight, and then you can either mod me, or message me for them when you see this.
If this refers to a misc category (it has to, every main category has vids for like, the top 3 runs iirc) that will be because those categories were only just added, plus they arent very competitive yet, so the top times probably arent very optimized.
I'd happily mod, -if- there's a need. Can't see this game getting that popular though.
If you're struggling with the water part of 3-5 try mashing both the space bar and the up button intermittently. Gets you more jump inputs in the same space of time than just mashing one of them. (This also works well for 3-2 when you have to rise up the water)
Seeing a lot of these double results for runs:
The first one, the pokemon tcg one, has only just shown up since the page's last update. A few hours ago there was only one run by Gcah, now its showing the exact same run twice.
Gonna bullet point my issues for brevity. Some are repeats of what others are saying but its worth noting how many people disagree, not just what they disagree with.
¤ Notifications don't go away. ¤ Comment and Edit icons removed from runs removes functionality, would prefer them back. ¤ Top overlay/bar/thing is too large, could easily be the height of the logo with no loss of info/usage. ¤ Too much empty space literally everywhere. Having to swivel my head to look between times and runners is silly. ¤ The added options when you click your own username are very rarely used and would serve better being within the profile page. I prefered being able to click my own username and going straight to my profile page. ¤ (this may have been like this before the layout change but) the filters box is fucking huge when you're on a series page. Could really do with having all those options in dropdown boxes. ¤ (edited in afterwards.) Hovering over runs only shows the first line/section of the run's comment, rather than the entire comment. Considering this was a hover over menu, seems like an odd thing to shorten. I prefered being able to see the entire comment without having to go into the run page itself.
I appreciate the effort that must have gone into this update, but it feels like a rushed, unwanted update pushed early to catch the sgdq crowd. It's also annoying when other, more basic site features have been on the backburner for a while, like IGT options for leaderboards, removal of seconds for IGT leaderboards for games that have IGT in minutes only (looking at pokemon here), etc.
Oops sorry Rommaster, didn't mean to ignore that spreadsheet, thanks~
So I deleted a couple of crappy misc category runs from my profile the other day and now I have no runs whatsoever. Not sure why, anyway I can get the ones I want back?
That depends on whether you're on NTSC or PAL. The way NTSC does it doesn't work on PAL, and I imagine the converse is true. I can throw up a video guide to PAL if needed but odds are you're on NTSC. I can't speak for how easy it is to do, but you should get a good feel for it by watching jcool's run.
I'm not aware of a frame-perfect fast strat on folders? What's that? I was just talking about getting good walls/bounces and saving like, up to a second with a good stage.
Yeah, there are a few strats similar to this, but they're just not consistent enough to warrant that level of risk that late in the run. Besides, most runs on the leaderboards, my own included, can save plenty more time on the stages around quick turn (fluctuation, folders, linear seesaws and birth).
